Quiet hotel in the heart of playa del Carmen. Very clean, great breakfast buffet! Loved the hammock and the pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. You can walk everywhere. This place is a little paradise. Highly recommend :)

Booked for 7 days. Amazing find!Lovely room, pool area and hotel. Location is central, one block from 5th avenue! Breakfast was beautiful. Staff were friendly and very helpful, cocktails were on point. Worth the price and would highly endorse to others. Would definitely come back. Internet was fast and available in and out of the room

I booked this hotel for 5 nights through Expedia and had no problems with my reservation. The hotel is right on 10th Ave diagonally opposite Coco Bongos. The location is ideal as it is one block from 5th Ave which is the main pedestrian street with all the shops and restaurants. At night Calle 12 is blocked to traffic right at Coco Bongos and becomes a pedestrian street also. Calle 12 also provides beach access a few blocks further away. You just have to cross the street to join the thousands of people walking around each night. However, 10th Ave is open to traffic full time so it is easy getting a taxi and tour vans come right to the hotel entrance instead of having to meet at a common pickup location.

The first floor room had a porch with hammock, king bed, nice bathroom, small fridge, a safe, remote controlled A/C, and 2 comfortable easy chairs. The room was made up perfect each day and 2 bottles of water were included. The rooms surround a nicely landscaped courtyard with a large swimming pool. Entrance is through the hotel reception lobby, which always had a doorman. If I had just spent one night here and did not stay at any other hotels I would have rated it a 4, as there was no desk or table or good reading light in the room. However, relative to the five other hotels I stayed at, the Magic Blue was far superior to all of the others and has to be rated excellent. Coming back to the Magic Blue each night was so enjoyable and peaceful.

The included buffet breakfast was in an attached restaurant and had a wide assortment of selections. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful. Despite its location in the heart of the nightlife, I never heard any noise in our room at night. I would definitely recommend staying at the Magic Blue and taking a taxi to the Cozumel Ferry area to experience the shopping and nightlife in that part of the city rather than staying in that area. I don’t think you can beat this hotel for price, location or comfort.

Whoa!! I am so happy I stumbled on this Hotel. It's located on 10th ave adj to the Coco Bongo which makes this hotel close enough to everything but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. In the hotel you are free of all the outdoor crazyness going on through the day/night. The pool area has 6 day beds big enough for 2 adults or more if you want to squeeze in and then it has about 20 other lounge chairs around it. It's not eh biggest pool but its perfect for the property.

The bar is at the end of the pool and there are tables setup as well so you can eat if you get hungry around the pool. The drinks are very tasty and well made. I didn't try any food from the bar but everything that came out looked good.

Breakfast was included with our booking which was from the attached restaurant. It was a full buffet with everything you can think of from chilaquiles to waffles. Fresh fruit out and fruit juices to choose from. They did however not have an omelette station ( that I was aware of) to have your own prepared.

The rooms were very spacious. We had a king size bed and enough space to fit two big sofas in the room. It would have been nice to have additional seating in the rooms like a sofa or maybe even another chair. All there was in there was a bed and one smaller lounge style chair. That was probably the only downside to the room.

Each balcony has its own hammock and couch. This made for some great afternoon lounging on the balcony.

All in all this is an amazing hotel close to everything but far enough away from everything if you get what I'm saying. At this price point I don't think you are going to find anything better in Playa Del Carmen.

Room Tip: All of the rooms have the same view of the pool pretty much.

Me and my husband spent 7 nights in this beautiful hotel on our recent vacation in Playa. The hotel is great! Super friendly staff, clean rooms, amazing pool and the best location you could ask for! The included breakfast is delicious, but only if you like Mexican food, so take that into consideration. There are only 2 things I would improve- they need to desperately add umbrellas in their pool area, the sun is super strong! And we had some ants in our room, but it didn't really bother us. The location is great and it's totally worth the price you pay for it!

Room Tip: Ask for a superior room
