We were met by such a welcoming couple Helmut & Silva. They showed us to our fabulous boutique room that was so cozy and set the mood for our week in Paradise. All of our needs were met...everything to make you feel right at home. The food was absolutely amazing and cooked fresh to order (and lets not forget the margaritas made from scratch - delish). The location was perfect...just a short walk to gorgeous beach. They both were so wonderful with excellent advice on where to eat and what things to do. We enjoyed a memorable stay and wish we could have stayed longer.

The owner Silvia was extremely friendy and helpful. The pizzas were excellent.
The cabanas are run down and need some love and care. The roof in one of our cabanas was leaking and it was raining in. There is salt water in the taps, so you have to shower and wash in salt water!!
With a bit of repair this can be an OK place.

Sorry for the late review! This property is AMAZING!!!!! If you are looking to avoid the Cancun and Playa Del Carmen tourists......this IS the spot!!!!

I have Celiac Disease and require a very strict Gluten Free Diet, which is hard to come by in other Countries.....especially, if you are susceptible to Cross Contamination issues. Believe me.....after spending 7 days and a lot of $ at an AI for our Honeymoon.....even the assurance from the Manager of the hotel that the staff would adhere to my special dietary requests months in advance, ended up in a severe case of Urticaria (Hives) for the entire 7 days.

I brought w/ me a large bag of Pamela's GF Baking Mix (kinda' funny Mule'ing a large bag of White Powder through Customs!!), and Helmut was more than happy to make me special Pizza's w/ Lobster each night that we were there! I cannot say enough about this hotel!!!

Can't wait to return!!!!

Room Tip: Pick the top level rooms for a nice breeze in the evenings!

We originally chose this hotel because it was close to our friends who were staying at a nearby all-inclusive resort. We don't typically enjoy the all-inclusive atmosphere, so we were looking for something a little different. Coco's was a great find! The cabanas are very simple, but clean & well-kept. The service was very friendly. The food was excellent. It was exactly what we are looking for.

One day we made the 1.5-hour walk to Playa del Carmen along the beach. Some may consider this too long, but we are active people & it was a beautiful walk. Another day we walked to the main highway (about 30 minutes) & took the Collectivo to Tulum. Coco's would have called a cab for us, but we enjoyed walking.

The food was excellent. We enjoyed both the pizza and the fish for dinner on 2 different evenings. We ate our breakfast there every morning. The coffee, fresh fruit & pastries were no charge, but we opted to purchase the Mexican eggs and they were excellent. Helmut is a great cook and very hospitable!

Stay here if you want a quaint atmosphere, quiet time, the basic necessities, good food, and a great value.
Don't stay here if you want to watch TV, drink & eat free all day, or if you want to be in the middle of the action in Playa.

We prefer Coco's to the all-inclusive resorts & plan to go back!

Me and my girlfriend did not want to stay in an all-inclusive. We preferred to be in a smaller place, having the possibility to be in a more intimate atmosphere.
And this place was excellent on this.
First of all, it is served by its owners, Sylvia and Helmut, who are really nice people.
Second, the restaurant (in which Helmut is the main cook) is AMAZING!! You can eat top class food, for a very good price. We ended up eating there every lunch and every dinner, because it was so good.
The breakfast is also very good.
We really enjoyed our stay there.

My husband and I were staying at a nearby mega-resort and were looking for something a little less "cookie-cutter". We stumbled upon Coco's (a few minutes walk on the beach from our resort) and it was one of the best parts of our week-long stay. First of all, the owners, Sylvia and Helmut, made our visit to Coco's restaurant unforgettable. My husband and I had a blast talking with Helmut for hours after dinner. The food was out-of-this world, the conversation fun and the drinks were flowing! We tried a pizza the first night and then went back on our last night because our first experience was so good. The second visit we tried the lobster pizza, fresh grouper and carbonnara pasta. Helmut is an amazing cook and I highly recommend the lobster pizza. We asked to see the cabanas (there are 6) for a future stay at Coco's. If you are looking to get away from your cafeteria-like food at your resort, I highly recommend you go here!
