I was there for a business conference and extended my stay for a couples long weekend. The resort is awesome - very unique environment as the property is carved into the jungle. Our room was excellent. The restaurants are all very good. You also get access to the surrounding resorts without having to leave Mayakoba - which greatly enhances the food options, etc. Our room came with butler service: our butler, Daniel, was great! Very attentive to our needs and helped tremendous with dinner reservations, etc. Highly recommend this location - it's well worth the price and I'm certain I will be returning!

Room tip: Rooms near the beach are excellent but be aware that they are over 1 mile from the main resort. Transport options are easy and plentiful.

I went with a friend to sit on the beach and relax. The beach, room, spa, food and staff were all lovely. I had read a few less-than-positive reviews and am now not sure what they were talking about... maybe there were renovations since they were there? I love luxury hotels and this ranks among them. In any case, the staff is he best part - Noe the driver, Sophie at the beach bar and Filiberto our waiter on the beach always made us feel like VIP guests. The beach was beautiful - no seaweed, no shortage of lounge chairs, waiters or cocktails. For breakfast, we found room service to be the best value. Otherwise, all the food we had was very good. We never would have eaten/drank enough for the all inclusive so we opted out. The spa... very quite and relaxing... there are pools on the roof: hot and cold with private lounge areas. Also there are separate women's and men's lounges with their own hot tubs, sauna and aroma therapy rooms. Worth spending a few hours before or after your treatments. I don't go to Mexico often, but would be happy to return here soon!

Room tip: Beach Casitas - closest to the beach, more removed from the rest of the resort

They were extremely accommodating for celiac, and the food was delicious. Such a great, luxurious hotel as well. The grounds and the mangroves are amazing, and this we have stayed there a few times. Highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed at the Fairmont Mayakoba in early October. We had an all-inclusive package and stayed in one of the Signature Casita rooms. This was our first stay at an all-inclusive and could not have been more impressed. The service was outstanding which is what you would expect at a Fairmont property. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The only vehicles allowed in the resort area are golf carts used by the housekeepers and staff to shuttle guests to various parts of the resort. There are also bicycles that can be used by guests. They are located throughout the property and you do not need a reservation. Simply hop on and ride. There are three restaurants and we found the service and food in each to be outstanding. It wasn't busy during our visit which was a plus. We had no problem securing reservations or finding a good place to sit by one of the three pools or beach. Our room was large and clean and overlooked the canal and golf course. Note that there are only a few rooms overlooking the beach. The only recommendation we would make is to offer more entertainment. We would have liked to have more live music (there was a harpist playing at breakfast one morning). We were very pleased and highly recommend the Fairmont Mayakopa!

Room tip: ask for a room with a canal view and/or golf course view

Both myself and my wife stayed in a beach front villa with pool from 28th September till the 10th October and it was sheer bliss.
From the moment we were greeted at the entrance till the moment we left I could not fault this wonderful resort set in the most beautiful jungle with a beach front.
We had Royal Service which was great , you could get picked up in a golf buggy to ferry you around, alternatively you could either walk which took about 17 minutes from the beach to the lobby or take a Fairmont bike, this was fun.
The food was great and was of a high standard, our favourite was Brisas, this is a fish restaurant which also served steak in the evening. Our favourite was the Sea Bass to share, accompanied by a beautiful glass of Albariño.
The Asian was also good with a great selection for all the family, again a great selection of both food and wine.
Swimming pools were spotless and a credit to the staff especially Loretsio (maybe the wrong name) at the pool in Brisas.
The beach was great for long walks as was the nature trail and do not miss the boat ride where you can see all types of wildlife.
Staff were the best though and are a credit to the Fairmont. In Brisas both Anna and Juan. Sergio behind Brisas bar who is an artist and has a great talent and is one of the nicest guys I have ever met as well as Sofia behind Brisas bar.
To be fair there are many others and it is difficult to remember their names, we also had the luxury of Daniel our Butler who organised us.
