“Super Falafel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2014

Stopped by this little restaurant last evening. Was the best falafel! An entire pita for 75 pesos. Love to return, perhaps next time I am in Playa.

“A must go if you like Falafels”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2014

This is a tiny family run place just off of 5th Avenue that just serves falafels. If you do one thing, you better do it right--do they ever. The friendly owners let you pick from an array of toppings for your HUGE falafel in a pita pocket. All of the toppings are freshly made there. They carefully layer your topping choices in between your falafel pieces giving you the full taste experience through the whole sandwich. Some of the toppings I can remember: hummus, a tomato/cucumber/cabbage salad, yogurt sauce, onions, 2 different spicy sauces, a couple of different combinations of pickled vegetables, and some homemade potato chips (I think that is what they were). Wish they would open a location in Chicago!

“My only regret is that I only got one...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2014

We stumbled on this place randomly like most jewels I find. On spring break with my friends and aimlessly walking down side streets in Playa del Carmen, the quaintness and authenticity of this tiny locality caught my eye immediately. I searched for a menu but only found one thing - falafel - which to me mean these falafels better be pretty damn good or they wouldn't be in existence. And was I right - these were some of the best falafels that I have ever crossed paths. Those crispy delectable herbacious balls of chickpeas stuffed into a warm pita pocket complete with hummus, lettuce, tomato, and all kinds of delicious sauces - I swear I would fly right back to Mexico right now to eat another one. If you don't decide to go here, you're crazy, but I guess it just means more for all the locals and Israelis who know what they're doing.
