“An interesting, but not great, way to spend a few hours.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2013

Quinta Avenida was just okay. Most shops tended to have similar merchandise and very pushy, though pleasant and warm, shopkeepers. It was a little shabby and a little too touristy. However, it certainly offers a little more authenticity than just staying at an American-style All-Inclusive would!

“Western, expensive”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2013

Don't shop here for souvenirs. Chichen Itza and Mercado 28 in downtown Cancun are the cheapest souvenir shopping places. Nice for people watching, nightlife and restaurants, but you could be in any western street with Starbucks and Haagen Das. Go to La Taraya restaurant on the beach, best quality and value for money Mexican food.

“Shopping”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013

5th Avenue is full of wonderful shops but it is also full of very very rude and pushy vendors. If you walk by their shop most often they will shout insults at you. Go off of 5th Avenue (closer to the water) and find shops there - they are much nicer.

“Beware!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2013

While we had a good time shopping along Fifth Avenue, it was a little disturbing when the shop workers, etc. took your arm and tried to draw you into their shops. We would barter with them and found some good deals, but we knew to be careful.
