Off 5th Avenue and over a small bridge you can get to Paris right in PDC simply by going here. Try the cheeses appy and salmon appy. Duck is very good. Our waiter Luis really knew his stuff. We hadv4 apys 4 dinners 2 bottles of Malbec nd 2 bottles of water $60per person including tip

Given that so many restaurants open and close in Playa, it says a lot that Cocotte Cita is still open 2 years later. It is still the best (and only) French restaurant in town. The menu doesn't change very much, but all of the ingredients are fresh and simply prepared. The terrine appetizer/starter is enough for two people to share. The bread is delicious, reminiscent of a Poilane sourdough.
The wine list is a mix of Chilean, Mexican and French. And, the prices are reasonable.

We heard raves from friends so were disappointed with the very average food. Service was ok, but one of our party of 6 was not served until most others were half done and another had an order really botched, so needed to send it back. Place is attractive, the owner is friendly and tries to be accommodating. I might give this another try since many good reviews, but our experience was no more than average or average-.

My wife and I are unabashedly foodies and dining is always something we look forward to when we travel. While we've been coming to Playa for many years, we never expected to find an authentic French bistros here. Our dinner at Cocotte Cita was sheer perfection: wonderful food, excellent service, and a real value. We split a smoked salmon appetizer, my wife had the Basque chicken, and I had duck confit. All of the dishes were equal to what we might eat in New York for considerably more money.
This is definitely a "must" in PDC!
