We stayed at Secrets the week before Easter for 5 days. We stayed in a garden view room. The resort is smaller than ones we have stayed before, but we really enjoyed that aspect. Everything was easily accessible without having to hike across the resort. The room was well appointed but had a bit of a musky smell and the spa tub needed the jets to be cleaned. (we told staff). The pool wait staff was very friendly and the drinks were plentiful. The food was of good quality. Our favorite dinner was at the italian restaurant. It was fantastic! The staff really knocked themselves out for the dinner on the beach. The fire show was an unexpected surprise one night. It was quite the show. One of my favorite parts of the resort was the coffee bar. You can get cappuccinos, expressos, etc. all day & eve. They even had a flaming coffee station in the lobby in the evenings. The smaller resort feel lent itself to a better vibe with the other guests. I would definitely return.

Room Tip: The garden view rooms were quiet.

Upon arriving we were greeted by a cold towel and a flute of Champagne. We were then asked if we wanted to upgrade to beachfront unit for $600.00 for the week. I did and we went to the room to find #1 Air Conditioning not working and load bangs from it. Requested to change rooms and was told non available. #2. Our patio was stolen by people every night waking us. Called front desk and reported, nothing done. #3. Ants in Bathroom (happens). #4. Real bad musty smell all of the time. Room was nice looking and bed was comfortable. Food was just adequate, nothing special. The pool had plastic cups, napkins, straws and coated with lotion from sunbathers that stayed from the previous day (not cleaned right). The front desk changed money for us but three times were were told " We don't have the right change (coins), but we will send it to the room or get back to you with it, never happened. The workers on service were fantastic and very friendly, but don't listen to the web site. Premium Liquor which is said to be avaialble, never was the whole week "Sorry, we ran out" was the typical reply. Grounds were beautiful and well kept. Was ok for a visit, but definately not a 5 star as advertised. Will not be back.

Room Tip: Just stay at the regular 1 Bedroom Suite, Oceanfront not worth the money

The resort was very nice. It had a nice homey sort of feeling. The place was clean and the staff was very welcoming and accomodating. The food was good. Briscio wsa my favorite bartender and spanish coach! The suite was on the ground floor and had a nice jacuziz tub and was a nice size. I enjoyed my time there and met some wonderful folks. The social activities staff was fabulous. The hotel is off the beaten path and is more low key than the resorts in (hotel row) Cancun. Very "quaint".

We loved Secrets Capri and the Staff. We really enjoyed the fact that it was a smaller hotel. Very beautiful boutique setting, lots of places to enjoy as a couple or with friends. Some of the restaurants had very small servings, but the service was good to excellent-gourmet food-very tasty. The Japanese restaurant was our favorite. we enjoyed the ability to find a quiet spot to either be alone on the beach or a spot near the pool to be involved in the activities. The beach is by far the best compared to the other nearby beaches. Some of the resorts-nearby didn't have beach access or had black mangrove water and you wouldn't want to swim in it. Secrets Capri beach was very clean and clear, absolutely perfect!. We also enjoyed the Entertainment Staff they were very friendly but not pushy. Our favorites Jonathan, Victor and Jesus Banana (yes that's his name) they were fun! Every night they had different entertainment and although some of it was a little cheesy, we did enjoy it. They work all day doing tours, volleyball, water aerobics and then the nightly entertainment. They have alot of energy. I do agree with the last review, that there wasn't a close restroom near the pool. It didn't bother me that much and so what- I had to get up to walk into the cool air conditioned building which wasn't awful. We found chairs available every day and didn't have to fight to get a lounge chair. The waitstaff at the pool were available always asking to get you a drink or bring you water just when you want one. I never had any stomach issues at all. My husband did have a little bit on our last day. We definitely want to visit again, but next time we think we will take our own transportation (taxi) to a airport or tour. We ended up having to make several stops to other hotels to pick up and drop off other people. We could have done without that. Other than that it was a perfect stay.

Room Tip: We ended up getting a room upgrade with an ocean view- which had the most beautiful view I ever have...

My husband and I have been to other all inclusives, but this was by far the best.
Upon arrival, we were greated with champagne and a cold cloth and a warm smile from a staff member.
Miriam was very helpful with our accomodatins; she scheduled our massages, romantic dinner on the beach and the Hibatchi dinner.
The romantic dinner on the beach was incredible. We had surf and turf, a delectible dessert, wine & Champange flowing all evening and the best service we have ever experienced.
The daily activities were a blast. Jonathan, Victor and Issay were very entertaining.
The Elvis show is a must see!! We are not very big on Elvis impersonators, but this was different. He had a wonderful voice and was sooooo funny.
We also enjoyed the dinner at poolside. The set-up was elegant with a sax player (very talented individual) on the restaurant rooftop for all to hear. Immediately following dinner was the fire show...we loved it.
Our room was immaculate!! Thank you Sandra; you did a wonderful job!
Juan and Suzette worked extremely hard to keep everyone satisfied at the pool bar. They were non-stop all day!
if you are looking for a beautiful resort with excellent service, romance and fine food. This is the place for you.

We will be back!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 247 and had both tropical and ocean view...loved it!!!

My husband and I just got back from Secrets Capri for our honeymoon. We booked everything with a travel agent down to the transportation to and from the airport. Our pick up at the airport was great. Upon arrival at the resort we were greeted by many smiling, friendly faces, however once we were checking in, they informed us that they did not have the room type that we reserved for our first evening so for our first night as husband and wife we had to sleep on 2 double beds pushed together. Not a great way to start the trip, but the concierge promised us that we would have the correct room the next day. We went down the next morning to get the room situtation resolved and was assigned a new room with a king size bed, however upon arriving in our new room we found that it was smaller than the first and still not the ocean/pool view we had reserved for. We made do. The room was small but nice and clean and again the staff was very friendly. Our first 2 days went well. We ate at a few of the restaraunts and had a few drinks at the bar. On the third morning my husband woke up not feeling so well, but thought it might have been from drinking too much the night before. We lounged by the pool but by around 4:00 he was very sick with stomach issues and we spent the remainder of the night in our room. On the fourth day, I too woke up sick with stomach issues. My husband and I went down to the gift shop to find some sort of medication and found that several people were getting sick. We aren't sure exactly what made us sick, we at first stopped eating the meat and only ate fruits and veggies but still remained sick, so we quit eating all together until we found a bag of Lay's potato chips in the gift shop. My husband bought a bag of the chips and 2 can cokes and the lady charged him $15!!!! For the last 3 days of our trip we ate very little other than the chips. We found this very upsetting seeing as we had paid the price for an all inclusive trip but by day 3 were not able to partake in any of the food or drinks due to it making us VERY sick!!! Not only that, I had my curling iron and hair straightner stolen out of our room and when I went to lost and found to inquire about it, the nice people at the desk all of the sudden could not speak any English! The resort was pretty and for the most part the staff is very nice but the whole food/being sick ruined it for my husband and I. I would not recommend this resort to my worst enemy and we have no plans of going back anytime soon!!!
