We visited over New Years which is one of the busiest times of the year. When we looked online the cheapest hotel we could find on or close to the beach was over $200/ nt. This one popped up at $130 than quickly sold out before I could book it. We called the hotel directly and they had a room available for even less. The hotel was pretty basic, but everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The location was perfect. Right in the middle of everything. The ac wasn't working when we got there so we let the staff know and they quickly replaced the ac unit with a brand new one. There is a full service restaurant right on the beach that had pretty decent food. You can also can a massage right there, right on the beach for cheap! The negatives are the tiny pool that isn't heated with no real direct sun and the fact they you have to walk on the beach through the sand to get to the hotel. Location, friendly staff and of course the great price are the biggest positives. We will be back!

I stayed at this hotel for a few nights while waiting to get into the timeshare hotel. The room was quite roomy and had a large veranda. There was a small kitchenette and dorm room size fridge in our room for keeping drinks cold. There was an ocean view that was so nice. It is right on the beach. We shared the room with a cute little gecko.
This is a true beach front hotel. Word to those who over pack (like me): There is NO walkway/sidewalk from the street so be ready to carry your suitcase because those wheels are not made for going through sand, trust me! There are also no elevators so for those on the second floor, be ready for carrying suitcases upstairs. I will definitely be packing lighter next time. The beach area is quite small so don't be surprised if you can't find space right in front of the hotel. They give you a wristband to give you priority on seating. There is a bar right next to the hotel with decent drinks and plenty of 'sightseeing'. The location of this hotel is perfect for those who want to avail themselves to the Playa shopping, nightlife, etc. as it is just a few short blocks to where everything is at. I would stay again.

Room tip: Get the ocean view. It is a larger room, has a kitchinette and has a great covered veranda with full patio table and space to lay out

Every single day, when in PDC we hang out here for the "Saved Spot" deal and the waiter service on the beach. Good food, ICE COLD buckets of beer and a Pico de Gallo is superb. Nice beach area with everything you could ever need to make a great day.

Me and my friend did our first trip to Mexico, Playa del Carmen and we're kind of in love. Beautiful country with kind people and the white beaches with the turquoise water is absolutely stunning. We choose Mimi Del Mar hotel and we do not regret that. What a lovely and cute place to stay!

We stayed 2 weeks and we never got bored. It's located in the centrum with short distance to everything (<50m to 5th avenue): shopping, restaurants, clubs and bars, bus station, ferries etc etc. And last but not least it's right on the beach, with sun chairs and a beach bar were you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We're pleased with our room and we had everything we needed, plus a nice view over the sea and the small pool. The AC was good and so was the wifi as well. Noting to complain about!

Most happy are we about the staff who works there. So nice and helpful and they really doing everything for the guests. So we're sending a big thank you to them for making our travel unforgettable and hope to see you soon again!

I have been in Mimi del Mar hotel for 3 nights and had a really great time.
The location is perfect - right on the beach and close to the main road.. the pool viewing on the sea is so relaxing and the staff are great.

It is also very helpful to have a small kitchen in the room - we prepared great breakfasts and saved money.
Recommended!
