“Best vacation ever!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2014

Just arrived home from a fabulous vacation! We stayed for 14 nights, from March 30, 2014 to April 13, 2014. Our family vacation started with a room upgrade from two rooms to a V.I.P. suite, which was very kind as it allowed us to be together as a family. We were travelling with our twin girls aged 15. The rooms were very clean, the staff were friendly and very accomodating. The activities staff was what made this a great trip for us. Sergio, Jay, Estefanie and Irina were fabulous, very friendly and enthusiastic. They truly made our trip one that we will never forget. Please let them know that Cassidy cried all the way from Playa del Carmen to Cacun and will miss every one of them.

We have had an amazing stay at this resort! Staff is so friendly and helpful. Hotel and resort areas are clean and kept up. Staff are making renovation improvements each day to make the resort even nicer then it already is. Our room (2364) was awesome! We had an great view ☀️. The beach is a little small but nice and sandy in the water, don't have to step around any rocks . They do have a new resort on the south side of fifth avenue (The Reef Resort) and the beach there is very big if that's what you really want. Food was good, a la caters where the best in our option, but I prefer plate service over a buffet any day. We will come back to this or there other resort, great location. This is a smaller more personal resort, so if your looking for resort life this may not be the place, but if your looking for a great relaxing vacation with the treatment of a vip for no extra cost, this is the place for you next vacation to Mexico!

All the staff at The Reef Coco Beach is very grateful because you chose this little paradise to spend your vacations and
It is so nice that you found something nice everyday here (the room, the staff, the beach, the cleaning, food, etc.)

Definitely we expect you come back, you always will be treated as a vip guest but now like a repetitive guest you can enjoy a new privileges at the resort.

I visited the Reef Coco Beach on a girls trip. We enjoyed the visit and the Reef provided everything we needed, but not much extra...

I would recommend not doing the all-inclusive option in Playa (no matter what resort you choose) due to the fact that there are SO many great places to eat/visit downtown that are more exciting than the resorts. The nightlife is great in Playa, so the resorts Sports Bar really couldn't compete at all. The food was average. The beach was okay. The beds are horrid. The best part about the resort are the cabanas on the beach....The staff was very helpful and made our visit enjoyable. The drinks, especially the mango Margarita, were great!

However, for the price we paid, it wasn't a bad place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view! The rooms on the ground floor walk out to the pool and have hammocks. The rooms...

We have been coming to this hotel for 15 years. We have seen several name changes. But the staff is still the same. They are the friendliest people I have ever met on any trip that I have been on. It starts with Alfonso (you are the best ever), Victor, and David and ends with the cleaning staff, everyone is awesome. The food is good. The rooms are great. Beds a little hard. It is within walking distance to town. Need to have free WI-FI. The only suggestion I would have is get the pool staff a little more excited they didn't do much for entertainment. We enjoyed meeting new people from all over the world. I cant wait to come back next year. Tell everyone hi

First, the getting there. Don’t use the money exchange in the airport. You will get a better exchange rate at the hotel and the cab driver is always happy to take a few American dollars as a tip. There are also people at the airport pretending to be greeters that will try to stop you as soon as you exit Customs. These people are actually timeshare salespersons but they will lie and tell you they are with your hotel in order to get your contact information.

Once you get to the hotel, skip the concierge. The owner of the hotel is using the resort’s concierge staff to recruit guests to sit through time share presentations at another one of his properties. There is a day trip travel agency right in the lobby and there is always a taxi waiting outside so you really don’t need the concierge anyhow.

The resort is older and smaller but seems clean and well maintained. The sports and recreation staff are really friendly and work hard to keep you entertained. Dining services seem adequate. There is a long, virtually abandoned stretch of beach just to the north of the hotel. If you are expecting the high end resort experience you will be a little disappointed. But, in fairness, you are not paying for the high end resort experience either. The resort is a safe, fun, moderately priced hotel from which to explore the area. If you have a good attitude you will have fun.

We stayed 8 nights. The personal was very kind. The animation team was fun. Kid's club is nice and safe. Our 4 year old daughter had a lot of fun with Estefania and Carolina.
Stay away for the girl who wants to send you to the reef at playa car (sell timeshare).
They were overbooked when we got there, and set us to a very bad hotel for the first night (BLuebay)...be sure they have your room ready and don't accept any move to other hotel.

Dear Paty V,

Thank you for sharing your experience. Your comment is really appreciated and we will definitely share your comments with Estefania an Carolina.

Regarding the overbooking, this is not usual but sometimes it happens in all the hotels, and really are sorry this affected your stay. The Bluebay is a hotel upgrade, but we are really sorry to hear you did not enjoy. We will also write you a personal message regarding this.

We really hope you will visit us once again.

Read ALL reviews before booking trip to Reef Coco. I loved this beautiful small all inclusive resort. Food choices and taste were excellent. Entertainment nightly, great variety. Super Activities staff!! Beach is small as noted in other reviews but so beautiful and perfect for me . Plenty of chairs, free cabanas. Friendly staff, not too much English speaking made things confusing at times. Minor issues, Wifi on and off, confusion about what and where entertainment was, jacuzzi was not hot at all.Overall a wonderful experience! This is not for those looking for 5 star resort. Near Playa Del Carmen town.A great, reasonably priced beautiful resort. I def go back!!!!
