The Best Playa Experience

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 23, 2017via mobile
It's often difficult to find reviews that are relevant to your travel taste and habits. The BRIC is one of those hotels for people who love hotels for the price, value, service and local flare. I don't like all inclusive. I like quiet, very clean and comfortable. This is my third time staying at this hotel in Playa. I love this hotel. You may want to check with management before booking. A new hotel across the street had a band playing loudly on the roof top disturbing the peace and karma of Saturday night.

By all means this is not a bad hotel. The location is superb, and it is quite cosy with delicious made to order breakfast each morning. However, there are the following problems:
- mosquitos everywhere, probably because of the plants around the pool
- tiny room
- next to the bar street, so on weekends, banging noises past 2am
- our air conditioning was breaking down and super noisy
- hot water pressure is slow and weak

The front desk people are nice and would help you, but they will not be able to give you good prices or insights on things. Better to go to the bar street and look at those counters offering packages to shows and tours.

For family, not the best, but for friends, not a bad choice.

This was the second time I stayed at this hotel last year. I really like this hotel as it is located right next to Quinta Avenida, and within walking distance of many restaurants, clubs and stores.

The rooms are simple yet nice. The bed is very comfortable and very big. There is also a mini-fridge which allowed me to have few beverages and water.

My reservation included free-breakfast. Every morning it is a different type of breakfast, and it is all cooked right on the spot. It is very filling and delicious and was the best part of my morning every day.

Check-in takes a few minutes, but the staff tries to get you into your room as quick as possible and are always willing to answer any questions.

One issue was the cleaning service. Sometimes they get to the room fast while other they might not get to it until later in the day, which may cause a conflict if you return to rest in the room at that time.

Every time I can reserve a room here I do. There is only two hotels I like in Playa del Carmen and this is one of them.

Located on a quiet street but close to all attractions, it's a small family run hotel that offers daily Mexican breakfast and confortable bedrooms. Very friendly staff. Room was big enough and had a complimentary bottle of water, afterwards there are fountains and jars around.

Perfect location. Step away fr. 5th ave's activities. Walking distance to everything that you possibly need. Easy 5 min walk to the beach. If you are a light sleeper, it could be a problem in certain nights as there were faint boom boom noise fr. 5th ave that you can hear. Or turn on the AC which masks the noise somewhat.

It is run more like an Inn or B&B. Daily change of breakfast entree, which is excellent.

Room on the smaller side with a lack of storage. However, if you do not plan to stay in your room much, It is not a problem. Very clean. Excellent and friendly service.
I will stay here again.

My home away from home. I have been coming for the last ten years. The location, the Oasis garden and pool. It has everything I love and they don't price gauge. The rooms have recently been given a fresh new look. Wow super sweet. I sound like one of the owners writing advertising but I am a guest from Canada who loves this alternative to 5 diamond resorts. I have real friendships with the staff. They have a great attitude for service. I can get a starbucks 25 feet away but still very quiet and private.

Room tip: All rooms are great but rm 20 is through a little secret garden and is more quiet and private.
