Great Place! Great People!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Dec 2, 2016via mobile
This was our 2d time at the BRIC and we stayed for twice as long. As close as the Hotel is to 5th Ave, the noise on busier nights is rarely noticeable.

We have come to know a few of the employees and enjoy how we feel that we are treated like family.

The BRIC is close to the Beach (visited Mamitas Beach Club: was nice and reasonable chair and umbrella rental), 5th Ave. (visited most nights for dinner), and the Adventure Parks and pyramids (Xel-Ha, Xcaret, XPLOR, Tulum, Coba, etc.), which we have visited in the past as well as this trip.

We look forward to returning next year.

Friendly and very helpful staff, comfortable rooms (with great bedding), good location, delicious breakfast : this place is ideal for a nice and cheap stay in Playa del Carmen. I would happily come back.

Could not have asked for a better 1st. experience exploring Playa Del Carmen instead of staying at an all inclusive. I booked directly with Abril who is in charge of reservations. She was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. Although our flight arrived late, we easily found our hotel. Security was there to open the gate and we had our room in minutes. It was clean, the bed comfortable, the shower was always hot and the air conditioning and fan both worked great. We loved sitting on our balcony at night listening to the music coming from 5th. but had no issues with noise in our room. Breakfast was something different every morning and looked forward to it every day. The cooking staff work hard to make it delicious and enjoyable. The grounds and pool area are mostly shaded with lots of plants and trees. Is is very quiet and peaceful. You would never know you were steps away from 5th. We enjoyed that after coming back from the beach daily. Absolutely everything was within walking distance. Not once did we need a cab. All the staff working here were very friendly and always were eager to please. They genuinely made us feel welcome. We stayed 9 nights and wished we could have stayed longer!

All round great experience! Staff is friendly, accommodating, and knowledgable! Lovely rooms and great breakfasts! Relaxing courtyard and pool. Close to beaches and many good restaurants. Just off 5th Avenue if that area interests you.

Room tip: Lovely boutique hotel near great restaurants and beaches! Great service!

I stayed here for 2 nights. I found it a pleasant enough stay. Although I have mixed feelings about my stay.

The good:

clean room, nice friendly staff, the garden area and pool really nice. Some great towel creations in the room, you know like your towel shaped into an elephant. Water jug in room that you can top up from the water dispenser by the pool or reception. Really nice tiled feature wall. Nice hammock on my first floor balcony. Nice fruit for breakfast.

Things that are maybe not so good:

As always these things are subjective,
I expected a little more for what I was paying. This is not really a cheap room.
From the pictures the hotel looked new, but it's not. It's well kept with some modernisation like good a.c.
When you look a bit deeper you see that the taps are really old.
I thought my room was quiet small, ok for just me but for a couple with a fair bit of luggage it would be small.
The TV picture was rubbish, although being a nice Panasonic flat screen. Think this makes it even worse when you have a nice TV and a bad picture. I mentioned it on leaving and reception seemed genuinely concerned, so hopefully it's all fixed now.
Although away from road noise you can still hear music at times from either near by hotels or other places.
The main breakfast item could be a bit more substantial.(I expected more)
Lastly the wooden staircase leading to my room would not be at all suitable for anybody who has problems walking.

Bottom line : if it was cheaper I would stay there again, or if you want a nice place to relax before your flight home it fits the bill.
Really everyone is different and has different expectations.
I think the staff work really hard and are very good and professional.

I m so very pleased to have stayed at The BRIC, from the moment we entered the gates to check in we were completely taken care of. The staff being friendly, and accommodating. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our deck each evening, sipping a bottle of wine. We were able to have pre-arranged transportation to and from the hotel which was very convenient.
I would definitely recommend a stay at the BRIC Hotel, and hope to return soon.
