For a location just off of the slightly beaten path to be quiet and cozy but still close enough to the best Playa has to offer you can't beat the Bric. The rooms are small but simple and more than adequate for the area, staff very attentive and helpful, and did I mention adorable? I found out about this hotel through a Groupon a friend and I split, but the rates are reasonable even without super deals.
The thing you have to remember about any hotel is that Mexico is still a third world country. Certain amenities just won't be available. The Bric's free breakfast is slightly better than continental fare, the common areas and pool are small. Most rooms have a mini fridge, but linens could be starchy. You can't flush TP down the toilets (not in any toilet, just don't do it!). Not everyone is fluent in English. You will be heckled by local shop owners as you walk by. Don't let this discourage you!! With some of the best restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and beach access within walking distance and free wifi to help you plan it all you really can't go wrong.More
