Our family (2 adults and a toddler) has stayed at the Kinbe for our vacation to Playa every year for the last 3 years. As a couple before our son, we stayed there twice. I would describe Kinbe as a funky, boutique hotel. It's in a great location - close to the beach and close to the main commercial pedestrian street. The staff is friendly, helpful, and consistent - Kinbe has retained the same staff for the past 3 years. This has been great because they remember us when we come to stay.

Room Tip: In our experience, the rooms overlooking the pool are the quietest. The rooms with the best views of the ocean are the garden terrace (6) and the garden loft rooms (13) - but these can be noisy because of its proximity to the street.

Really enjoyed my stay, funky and artsy rooms, quite hotel, great service and close to the beach. Try to get on of the rooms with a balcony

Room Tip: Room 6 is very nice and has a large balcony

Kinbe was a great experience! The front desk staff was very helpful and the grounds were very cute! The location was great- close to action and walk to the beach club. It was a little loud at night with the nearby bars blasting dance music but the A/C masked the sound. Our original room was quite stinky when we arrived so they gave us an upgrade to the 2 story garden suite with ocean views. This was great! I highly recommend this room!

Room Tip: Get the 2 story room with view.

We stayed at Hotel Kinbe for just one night at the end of March. The staff was great and the price was right. The rooms aren’t quite as nice as how they look on the website, but they were still quite cute, comfortable, and clean overall. The location alone makes Hotel Kinbe worth your while… you are just steps away from both the main strip and the beach. However, be warned that parking is difficult (we ended up choosing a parkade several blocks away), checkout is slow as they will inspect your room first, and the only drinking water available is the overprice bottle in the minibar. I’d probably stay here again.

We stayed here over easter so it was extremly noisy, drum & bass festival was on accross the road until 6am. So the next morning when we requested to change rooms the reception didnt seem to care/ bother that our room was impossible to sleep in with the noise- so we bought ear plugs. It was only on the 3rd night that we were able to change rooms (and pay) for a better room away from the noise- which was much much better.
We had an issue where we ordered a taxi to pick us up from the airport but we waited 25 minutes and it did not arrive, so we had to get one there. The hotel tried to charge us for this and had a row with us for a 'no show' how could we be a no show at the airport? What was more irratating was that every morning on our way out to Playa they would ask us what happened with the taxi- so it ruined our stay at the hotel.

Apart from the customer service, the hotel is beautiful, especially the pool, and its in a great location! Jan was lovely.

Room Tip: Moody rooms are far to small, the rooms on the other side of the hotel make it feel like a different hotel.
