It all starts when you reach the Cancun airport, a blue Diamond representative is waiting at the exit to bring you into your dream get away…. Our Honeymoon!
Once you enter the Hotel, there is a team of men and women ready to give their best to make you feel in paradise.
From the cleaning people all the way to the Hotel Managers, Rodrigo and Gabriela to the bellboys Darwin, Manuel, they were ready pick you up and transport you to the room, to the beach, to the restaurants back and forth without spearing a minute of the most sensational time you can ever experience.
Problems….. The word problems in this environment it’s simply non-existing. The capacity and attitude towards problem solving it’s simply amazing, because of this we can’t recall any misshape or issues during our stay at the Blue Diamond… simply sensational.
The food…. Being an all-inclusive Hotel our expectations were the typical buffet for the three meals. Well, we were so far apart from the true treatment a team of chefs and waitress who were able to please us with a variety of typical Mexican, International and French cuisine. Menu a la carte, executed at perfection and in a splendid elegance.
The environment and ambiance… The Hotel entrance it’s very deceiving. A small and simple entrance opens up to a gorgeous and clean perspective with a blend between local features and contemporary architecture full of local landscape and water which dresses up the beauty of the local Cantera, the advantage of having a Cenote which carries a creek which travel throughout the grounds of the Hotel. To top it all, the best accomplished rooms in such a different environments, shapes and sizes. The materials and interior decorations make them warm and invitational. The open areas which you visit in the different patios are incredible and relaxing. Talking about relaxation, we visited the spa which was a unique experience because the privacy, quiet, clean and the personnel extremely well educated and professional. The restaurants, different in style served their porpoise; one for elegant and romantic occasions with live saxophone music, and another by the pool and beach area with Mariachi one day, Reggae the next, an acrobatic show and background music all day. A beautiful and elevated pool area with a therapeutic pool and a fantastic infinity pool to enjoy it and the perfect ocean view.
Most important of all, all these amenities and activities would not be there if it wasn’t for the people who work at Blue Diamond. They are there to make you feel the best, they are there to pamper you, and they are there to give you their best. My wife and I were celebration our Honeymoon, the amount and quality of each detail they gave us were incredible. The new were we stayed, they knew our names; they knew what we wanted to eat and drink… simply incredible. We must thank these people for helping us have the best time at the right place for a very special occasion.
Thank you Blue Diamond, we will be back and we mostly appreciate all you details and treatment.

We just spent 4 nights here and were blown away by the beauty of the resort as well as the first class service we received. We were very skeptical and almost changed our reservation several times based on some earlier reviews but we decided to stay with Blue Diamond and give it a chance. We are both so glad we did!!! The property is amazingly beautiful and a lot of times we felt as if we were the only couple at the resort. We were greeted with a warm towel and juice and taken by golf cart to our room, which was a Ribiera Junior Patio Suite. The room is beautifully decorated with a fully stocked mini bar. We had no problems what-so-ever with our room. It rained for one entire day and we never experienced a leak as some of the other reviews stated. We had a private outdoor pool which was amazing. You have to call the concierge to fill it up as they can’t keep it full due to the wildlife. Every time we called someone was there within minutes filling the pool. As some others stated, there is a slight problem with the hot and cold water in the shower. This was completely tolerable though...we were in paradise so the water going from warm to cold every so often didn't have an impact on our stay. Our room was made up daily in the morning and we had turn down service every evening while we were at dinner. They restocked the mini bar as needed and we were never without bottled water in the fridge, by the sink for brushing teeth in the bathroom and a bottle by each side of the bed. They must have hired a new chef because from the older reviews we expected terrible food and very small portions. We had the total opposite. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were enough that I couldn't finish and my husband left each meal completely full. There was no way we could eat a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day because it was just too much. We enjoy drinking wine but don't consider ourselves wine snobs so the wine good. All of the mixed drinks were made with top shelf liquor and were not weak by any means! The staff was very attentive to our every need. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a golf cart and really, with all that food, we enjoyed the short 1 mile walk from one end of the resort to the other. It was a great way to walk off a delicious meal! During the day that it rained the driver came to our door with an umbrella to escort us to the golf cart and into the restaurant. Some of the staff that made our stay the most memorable were: Jose (the concierge), Javier (great sense of humor and a wonderful bartender!), Manuel (ask him for a tour of the resort after some late night drinks at the pool bar) Omar, Jesus, and Martin. I also highly recommend the Tamazcal Ceremony. It is a very unique, cleansing experience and gives you a great story to tell when you get home! Oh and lastly, you get free WiFi and free international calling from your room! We were able to call home several times a day to check on our daughter who was staying with my parents which gave us great piece of mind during our stay. I can’t recommend this resort highly enough and we are so looking forward to coming back!

Stayed here for 9 nights in May with my husband.
Previously owned and managed by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (MOHG), this was a big influence in our choice as we knew the property would be stunning. The other guests we spoke to agreed that the hotel was fabulous but the service was hit and miss. It's obviously going throught the early stages of new management and it shows but it is so beautiful here you don't really care.
Needs minor improvements to grounds, bars, pool area to freshen it up as some areas look tired with broken lights, broken toilet locks etc.
128 rooms but was only half full when we stayed but the staff struggled especially in the dining areas. Room service was painfully slow and food was tepid. Breakfast was the best and quickest but dinner, boy oh boy!!!!! Dinners alternated between the restaurant at the pool and Ambar set halfway through the hotel. Despite what they say I would strongly recommend a reservation as otherwise you can wait up to an hour for a table. The food was overall nice to good with a Mexican influence on the breakfast and lunch menus but dinner tended to have a slight international theme. Aiming to be something that they did not achieve despite the use of foams & banana sand!!!! Just trying too hard.
No poolside service as such, glasses not cleared during the day, have to get your own drinks and we waited an hour and a half for an umbrella.
Concierge was very nice but not efficient, repeated requests for information and bookings.
Spa lovely but pricey and busy. Book early.
Despite the niggles the staff was so smiley and friendly that you just didn't really mind, it is a beautiful place and I would not hesitate to recommend or return.
Improve service and this will be 10/10 review.

I just returned from a relaxation vacation and the staff, amenities, food and style of Blue Diamond Riviera Maya exceeded every expectation I had. Having some trepidation about staying at an all-inclusive (images of cruise-style buffets and busy amenities for one), the Blue Bay proved itself an exlusive all-inclusive. The food was some of the best I've ever had, the service was beyond sublime and the amenities and property was outstandingly beautiful. The food is gourmet-level, drinks are all premium in quality and it boasts a small, boutique feel --- with only slightly over 120 rooms for adults-only, this is the most private, lovely place you can imagine. Also, many amenities are included in the cost including snorkeling, ocean kayaking, cooking classes and even private yoga classes.

I cannot wait for our return and recommend the Tez Mecal ceremony for anyone seeking an ultimate, authentic Mayan ritual for spiritual and physical cleansing.

Room Tip: 348 is the best of the villas!

The rooms at this resort are Exceptional. We were upgraded to the ribiera suite with an outdoor showerwich was increadable ,but we preferred the outdoor concrete bathtub or the spool (spa +pool)  and the seclusion so we ended up downgrading to the patio suite.  the decor is so modern and comfortable.  I loved the bathroom with the separate toilet room, the double glass rain showers, the mother of pearl green tile and the granite counters.   We hung out on our private outdoor garden room all day and enjoyed the amazing tranquility, flora and fauna. what amazed me was that there were virtually no bugs.  The grounds are unbelievable.  My husband and I walked and walked around everywhere on this resort, and the trails are impecable. They were great for a very scenic jog in the morning.  I would rate this resort higher than the paradisus la esmeralda.  (and our family stay was exceptional there)
The food was fabulous for an all inclusive.  The service at aquamarine was a little disorganized at times, but everything was excellent.  Our favorite was the little French pastries in the morning. The pastry chef is a genius!  The little croissants are to die for. the other highlight is the fresh roasted Chiapas coffee that is served in a French press.
Another breakfast highlight is the Nescafé cappuccino.  For Lunch, the shrimp brioche with jumbo tiger shrimp was the best.  For dinners, make sure not to miss the quail.  If you get bored at the resort, the sister resort that is a 10 minute walk on the beach has a lot more choice.  They have a bunch of restaurants that the concierge will be happy to make reservations for you, but none of the restaurants are as good as the restaurants at the blue diamond.  We stayed at the sister resort about 4 years ago and noted that the Italian restaurant had very good lasagna and the steak restaurant had the most amazing coconut shrimp, but below average grade of steak.
If you are looking for buffet food you will find it very plentiful at the sister resort, but not at the blue diamond.
Do not miss the sweat bath ritual that is included in your stay,  this is a very unique treatment that is solely for open minded people.  This is also a real opportunity to travel back in time and experience a real Mayan tradition that has been passed down many generations.   I also loved spending time in the spa  and using the eucalyptus steam room that is called haman.
Don't forget to bring lots of reading material and movies or your ipad to stream Netflix, because there is not a lot to do in the evening.
We did not have any issues at all with theft from our room.   we left out our electronics, camera , iPad, iPods out of the safe and absolutely nothing went missing.  (we have been to other resorts in the area where theft from your safe is a common occurrence)
The location is decent , about a 20 minute cab ride to playa del Carmen.  For those that are adventurous, you can walk there on the beach , but it will be proximately 2.5 hours each way depending on how fast you walk.
I would rate this as my best vacation to date.  (my husband would disagree as there was not enough stuff to do for him).  being a busy mom ,
I just wanted peace and quiet and a quiet place to recharge my batteries, and this is exactly what I got.  Thank you Blue diamond resort, you have made my stay very memorable.
