“Great value and location!”

We had a double room without bathroom for 400 pesos -- very good price. Only problem was we were on top floor and only bathroom was on bottom floor. The room was really comfortable, though. And location was perfect. Cool and inexpensive bar/cafe on ground floor.

This is my third stay at this hotel and it always lots of fun. The price is very affordable, the rooms are all different motif, very clean and fun. The staff is friendly and kind. The restaurant attached is reasonably priced and good quality. The location is just a short 2 minute walk to the beach. Highly recommended if you are laid back, not recommended if you like fancy hotels and are uptight.

Room Tip: If you are travelling with a few people....the room "The Cenote" is good. Has kitchen, a...

Not far from main drag & therefore the beach & hence rather noisy.
Great little cafe / restaurant doing excellent breakfasts from 46 pesos inc juice, coffee & toast - free wifi
Cabanas 18 & 19 are built on a flat roof overlooking the pool area & boast outside table & hammock
Room was large with double & single bed, fridge, fan & bathroom was very nice
Some of our fellow travellers had their own mini kitchen - and everyone seemed to be happy with their rooms - cheap, cheerful & clean and a pool.

My daughter and I took our annual mother/daughter trip and we picked Casa Tucan Hotel in Playa del Carmen. This hotel is very middle of the road so to speak and we had a wonderful time and had a very nice room for a cheap price.

The hotel is 2 blocks or so from the beach, so you save $$ by not being right on the beach. This hotel has a nice swimming pool and beautiful gardens and has a pretty good restaurant for a great breakfast before hitting the beach. We found that you have to rent beach chairs for the beach, so we just parked ourselves at one of the beach side restaurants and ordered food and drinks once in awhile and had a great time.

We took the ferry over to Cozumel and spent the day snorkeling. Rented a jeep and toured the island and then headed back to Playa del Carmen and found a beach restaurant to have a great dinner.

Took the bus to Cancan and spent a few days before heading to the airport and home. The hotel was the Aquamarine and was very nice for the money. But if you don't purchase an all inclusive plan then you can not eat at the hotel. So we took the bus, which you catch right down the street and went into town. Had great food and had a wonderful mother/daughter trip!!!

Room Tip: just as to see the rooms first and I am sure they will be happy to show the rooms to you.

I spent in this hotel two wonderful nights the last week of november. And the first thing that catched my atention was the jungle-like enviroment... walking to the room they gave me made me think in one of the places I love the most near to the jungle in Chiapas... I loved it so much. And then... coming into the room... I found it so delightful. Simple but beautiful with all the walls painted with a fresh natural scene. Everything was so clean, the room was fresh and calm, next to the pool. And the only thing I could hear was a peacock wich is not in the hotel, but in one of the places around. It was marvelous! Then I wanted to see more of the rooms (of course, after my nice sleeping there) and I was amazed by the original paints, different from each other, in every room. A place to be in love with nature and with the Caribbean.

Just one thing.... no t in this season there is a lot of mosquitos but i understand its hard to get them exterminated :) :)

Hum...we just left Casa Tucan and were very disapointed :( First of all, the place was not as clean as it should be...Also, there was TONS of mosquitos in the room (really tons), because the mosquito net on the windows was broken and they woudn't repair it. Finally...we had a little problem and asked the manager to help...and it was the worst service we ever had in any hotel, anywhere. ...So I would never go back there :(
