Description: The cuisine at Oh Lala! Is a refreshing change from that of other, more conventional restaurants. Guests are treated like good old friends in a relaxing atmosphere coupled with personalized service and good food. Opened in January, 2011, by co-owners George and Mikaela, Oh Lala! Offers personalized experiences for its guests, ranging from a laidback sampling of hors d'oeuvres and wines, to a leisurely look at the full menu. With a total of 9 tables divided between the indoor and outdoors seating, and an open kitchen, Chef George, Mikaela, and their staff, make sure that every visit to Oh Lala, International Cuisine by George, Is a unique and a delicious one.

“Deserves the Rave Reviews”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

We dined twice at Oh Lala on our recent trip to Playa del Carmen. We went with friends who made the reservations back in November. Making reservations that far out was not necessary but you will need reservations as there only 9 tables. I think they try to have 3 seatings per night.

The chef, George and his wife Mikaela are the most gracious hosts. George seems to find time to talk to all of his guests in addition to doing some of the finest cooking in Playa or anywhere else and Mikaela is a joy to be around.

We did not try everything on the brief menu but as a party of 4 we had a total of 8 meals in our 2 visits and it was all excellent. I won't try to describe the food because I know I would not be able to do it justice but I will say I especially enjoyed the Seared Tuna Steak with a butter-soy sauce served on a bed of mashed potatoes.

The cost per person for an appetizer, entre, dessert and wine with the meal was very reasonable. It was about $50 US per person including a %20 tip. I can't reccomend Oh Lala highly enough.

Dining here was great. The outside cafe was exciting and the food was amazing. When I visit again this will be one my first stop for lunch or dinner.

“Wonderful dinner”
Reviewed January 31, 2014 via mobile

First time and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The owners and waiter honestly appreciate each person who comes to their restaurant. They even sent us the recipe for one our dishes so we can try to have the taste of Oh Lala at home. Thank you for your generosity and we hope to come again on our next visit to PDC.

TIP: Make reservations. Several people had to walk away disappointed because they didn't come with reservations.

Food is delicious. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Make sure to try mussels in white wine and the lamb chops entrée. George and Mikaela are very friendly and welcoming

“Romantic French style bistro tucked away”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

We were a group of six and made reservations via email a week prior to going. We probably should have made reservations a couple of weeks earlier as we had to take an 8:30 reservation instead of 7:30 as we would have liked. It was well worth the wait. Most of us had fish or steak. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was attentive. Wine was reasonably priced and an excellent addition to dinner. It is a slow dining experience with various courses to stimulate conversation. Beware no substitutions as the chef pairs the foods together. Atmosphere was very romantic-- low lighting, tablecloths. Plenty of privacy.
