We had an excellent meal at Cenacolo. We ate clams and the carpaccio for starters, clam and beef pasta dishes for mains, ending on tiramisu and a chocolate confection. The fresh clam pasta and the traditional (more gloopy, in a good way) tiramisu were notable.
The food stands up to comparison with other high end Italian restaurants I've eaten in around the world (in places you expect to find them like London and NYC).
The downside to this is that the prices also stand up to comparison with top restaurants in places like London and NYC. A particular bugbear of mine was the wine list; there is a selection of fine wines but Cenacolo has fallen into the trap of not offering a decent range of reasonably priced bottles. For me this is a cardinal sin for an expensive restaurant.
So overall, we had a great meal but don't go here unless you really like Italian food and are prepared to pay for it or are not particularly price sensitive and just want a great meal.
