Description: The popular Cozumel Restaurants Casa Mission, La Mission and Parilla Mission have brought their concept to Playa del Carmen. La Mission offers generous portions of seafood, steaks and Mexican specialities at affordable prices. And their "If you don't like it, you don't pay it" slogan is hard to beat. Proof of this is the preference of locals and visitors.

I was advised by a local to try La Mission out, so off we went (its directly behind the bus station) found it really easily and went in, the attention to detail from the staff was amazing even if they found it strange that my partner had the beer and I had a cocktail.

Food was absolutely amazing, we had bread and the local speciality soup given to us before we ordered (Free) and had 2 main courses including a Lobster and a desert, 4 drinks and still was less than £30 sterling.

we visited again another twice before we left, again the service and food was up there with the very best a la carte restaurants I have visited at a fraction of the price and with a lot more personal and genuinely friendly service.

this place is a must for anyone visiting Playa

SUPER DUPER place to find just walking along the street in Playa. Great service, fantastic food, unbeatable prices and really friendly staff. I had the BEST Chili Relleno I have ever had. The Lime Soup is phenomenal. Cannot wait to go back to the area, but will FOR SURE go back to the restaurant when we do!

i had read about this place on the forums as a place to go so i thought we'd check it out one night. we had sampled their fare at the taste of playa so we figured that we would for sure go.
service was very good and attentive. we arodered a sharing "appy" of the la mission shrimp dish which is really and entre. delicious and different! bacon, grilled butterflied shrimp, mushrooms and seemingly chinese fried rice. try it it was good!
then on to the entres...broiled lobsters for each of us. the butter was served two ways: one with a load of grilled garlic and the other plain. the grilled garlic butter was delicious. i will note that the price of both these lobsters combined still didnt total the cost of the lobster at the blue lobster on 5th that we had the week before.
we'll go back when we are in playa again.

We found this place purely by chance. Food is flavorful and reasonably priced. The manager runs a very tight ship. He manages the attentive waiters in such a way that each customer is treated as if a personal friend. Glasses are thoroughly inspected, wine bottles are bought to the table for selection no detail over looked. This kind of high end treatment with a great meal. This restaurant is located slightly off the main strip. Forget about those silly expensive restaurants on 5th avenue. If you want a authentic excellent Mexican meal this is the place to eat. Enjoy!

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel staff. The restaurant is very charming. The service is excellent. Thank you Julian. My husband ordered the surf and turf. I had the mole chicken. The surf and turf came with baked potatoe, rice, fresh perfectly cooked vegetables, tender steak and the most perfectly cooked and tasty lobster tale. It was to die for! the chicken mole was also excellent although I wished I had the lobster tale. Honestly, I have not had better lobster even in Canada! Margatitas were also better than most restaurants here. Before dinner they serve you chips ,guacamole and pico de galo. the guacamole was freshly made and very tasty. We highly recommend this restaurant.
