“Wonderful experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

I was very impressed with Local Quickies!! Amy was able to put together a custom half day tour for my family of four. We had less than 24 hours before we left and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to make the payment the morning we left (at 4am). However, I called from the Atlanta airport and Captain Quickie assured me that our private tour was still a go. Keep in mind, Captain Quickie and Amy were due to have their baby within about 2 days! The tour was amazing. We were picked up at our hotel in a private van and taken to the Local Quickie office to pick up our guide, EZ. He was such a pleasure to have as our guide. He treated us like we were his buddies :) The snorkel experience was perfect. We had never been before and we saw turtles, stingray, and a barracuda. EZ gave us ALL the time in the world. He never rushed us. When we were ready we were then taken to the Garden of Eden Cenote. We had snacks along the way. The centoe was breathtaking. We really enjoyed our time there. EZ made our morning a highlight of our trip to Mexico. I highly recommend Local Quickies. They bend over backwards to make you feel special. My only regret was that we didn't get pictures of our day. I had a small underwater camera, but the photos I took weren't very good. I was told the underwater camera from Local Quickie was broken. A few were taken above the water at the Cenote, but we didn't see them posted. I guess we will have to return :)

“Awsome snorkeling and catamaran excursion!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

A superb experience with Local Quickies! Our guides Manuel and "E-Z" (believe me, he really is an easy-going guy) picked us up at the hotel lobby dead on time and we were off to our first stop in Akumal for a snorkeling adventure to observe giant sea turtles in their breading grounds. This was spectacular and Manuel was going nuts with the Go-Pro camera capturing incredible footage of us swimming with the turtles. We also saw many species of parrot fish, rays and a huge barracuda hidden in the shade under a boat. One mean-looking fish! Next we were off to a nearby lagoon where hot and cold water mix together to create spectacular visual effects (blurry water). We had a blast diving down into crevasses. Next, we headed inland to fresh water Cenote where we spent about an hour jumping of a cliff into the Cenote. EZ was practicing his jokes in the van on the way. The guides were great with the kids. Helping them around and keeping things safe. Their attention to detail throughout the trip made for a well organized, safe and smooth-flowing day. We then went for lunch in a local restaurant. The food was incredible. The chicken Quesadillas are to die for! We then drove to the Tulum beach to board the catamaran that would take us back to Playa del Carmen. Wow! An 84 foot long by 40 foot wide catamaran with a crew dedicated to make you happy. There is room for 100 people on this boat but local quickies only accept a maximum of 32. We were 23 on this huge boat. This makes it a safe and uncrowded experience. Believe me, the crew know how to take care of you. The margaritas were the best we've ever tasted! It was not long before the party ramped up a notch... Once we docked in Playa del Carmen, the bus was waiting for us as planned and we left local quickies headquarters back to the hotel. A superb experience that we strongly recommend to everyone. They will design a package according to your needs. This is not a cookie cutter offer. They really take your needs into consideration and design a tour package around them.

“A Great Choice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Local Quickies was a great choice and they were so helpful to us in answering any questions that we had. The guides were enthusiastic and friendly and really made the day, just a shame the weather did not do the same. Despite being sunny it was quite windy and that meant visibility when swimming with the turtles was not the best and it also meant that the catamaran had to be cancelled but we were offered alternatives of either the jungle experience for same price or a partial refund and go to Tulum ruins. It is a shame that we were unable to get everything that was planned in the day but the weather is its own master and Local Quickies was fantastic and cannot be blamed for that.
I'd definitely recommend and if I am ever back in Mexico I would not hesitate to go again and hope the weather is kinder.

“Believe the Hype - Amazing Day!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013 via mobile

Needs to be a ranking above excellent. Took the signature tour with Hector and Gil on 7/23 - amazing guys who feel like long friends the second you meet them. They care they took to manage expectations, break the ice, ensure everyone's safety, provide background including historical and geographical and answer any question of which you could possibly think was unbelievable and so natural for them. Swam with huge sea turtles, stingrays and squid, saw a 6ft barracuda, learned about cenotes, Mexican, Mayan and local traditions and history of the area, ate amazing authentic local foods -- oh and got to learn the exact meaning of tequila boom-boom. It's an action packed day and worth every penny, in fact it was worth way more with the memories and amazing photos we'll have forever. Don't hesitate, just book. Tip: bring extra cash to tip the crew at the end of the day. Thank you Hector and Gil for making such great memories for us, hope to see you again someday amigos.

“Rumble in the Jungle...don't miss it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013

Our family took the "Rumble in the Jungle" tour while visiting MX and LOVED IT! The guides -- Vasco and Caesar -- were terrific...knowledgeable, fun, and very detailed with instructions. The 4-mile trip to the jungle was way cool, and the zip lines offered great variety and excitement...from beginners to thrill seekers, these zip lines were terrific for our entire group. We also did the rock climbing and rappelling...a first for some of us...awesome! The cenotes and snorkeling were the best way to cool down and offered a unique water experience that we don't readily have in the States. We finished off with a delicious and filling Mexican meal and had plenty of drinks throughout our adventure. Highly recommend this jungle adventure over other man-made, concrete parks. No waiting, no crowds and no regrets!
