“tranquility you can't get on 5th!”

a really great ambience to this restaurant and since it is such a hidden gem (the place only has about 8 tables), you and your wife might be the only two there!! both times we came, we asked the bartender/waiter (Aldo) his recommendation. the chefs usually come up with something amazing and unique that's not on the menu. i had the octopus and the filet, my wife had the grouper and the chicken cooked in coconut cream and pineapples. the server is totally cool if you are... and then the bonus: happy hour is from 4-7, two for one drinks!!!

i wish i would have discovered this place earlier in my week.

“Playa Hideaway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2010

We discovered this restaurant when we checked into our hotel. Its nestled in lush landscaping and had that look of a special place.
We mostly had breakfast here, before running of to Mayan ruins, or doing the PdC scene. It is a great way to start the day, low key and beautiful. Service is very good. Food comes to the table as soon as the kitchen has it ready. Whether its fruit, or eggs, or omelets the attention to detail and presentation is excellent.
After the meal was cleared we were allow to linger, we were never rushed to leave the table. The grounds are lush, even though they are associated with the Hotel Aventura, you feel you are in a Mayan garden setting.
Its a great place to escape the Avienda 5 night time hustle.
