Paella marinera is a MUST for the seafood lover...Caveat: the paella for two could feed four! Order a single and share!

Not much I can add to these excellent reviews.
Having worked extensively in Spain, I am a lover of Spanish Cuisine. At Tierra Espana they pay attention to the authenticity and eclectic flavors of the cuisine; it's the real thing. The restaurant is large, air conditioned, tastefully appointed and downright luxurious by Playa standards. (They have an outdoor porch for cool evenings.) The service is gracious and personalized. The owner was on-site making sure everything was perfect. I will return tonight with some friends for tapas, paella and Flamenco Dancing.
p.s. I live here now, so I'll be a regular.

Went to Playa del Carmen for fifth time and wanted something off the 5th ave strip.Walked the two blocks up Av Constuyentes and gave Tierra Espana a try. In addition to tapas, they have a full dinner menu witha spanish orientation. There were five of us and we were unsure of how much to order, not knowing how they sized the tapas. Carlos , the owner came over and made a couple of suggestions; a combination of tapas and two full dinners to share. We all shared paella along with a veal special and added a couple of tapas. It was the perfect quantity and the flavors were outstanding.
Very nice wine menu, with some very reasonably priced spanish and argentinian selections. Comfortable atmosphere, friendly attentive staff and reasonable prices makes this a restaurant not to be missed, Carlos also talked about beefing up his beer selection and is apparently in the process of doing so now.
Don't be afraid to walk off the strip to this place. There are fine restaurants off of 5th ave and this is one of them.

I am a HUGE fan of Spanish food. I am always on the lookout for quality Spanish cuisine. Over the years I've found several good places in Miami and of course I've visited Spain many times. I saw this restaurant listed in our hotel dining guide and decided to look up the reviews on trip advisor. There were only three but all were good. The restaurant is not located on 5th ave but rather a few blocks away. Its halfway between 5th and the MEGA. The restaurant had only one table of guests and we were greeted by the owner/manager who carefully explained the specials and answered all of our questions. The waiter spoke only limited English and the chef who initially greeted us spoke no English, but the owner spoke excellent English and made sure we were taken care of. The menu is extensive, the prices were reasonable and the food was excellent. They have a large selection of Spanish wine and serve very traditional Spanish dishes including Tapas. The tapas portions are much larger that what you would normally expect so keep that in mind.
After 2 successive days of eating OVERPRICED, BLAND and just down right CRAPPY Mexican food on 5th, Terra Espana was like HEAVEN!!!!!! Don't Miss this charming place!!!!!

Are you headed to playa del carmen? If you are there already dont miss out on trying this restrant! Excellent food and service.. and oh,, the atmosphere is wonderful, too! We just happened to stumble on this one and wished we found it sooner.. we leave for the states tomarrow but we will definately be back to this one! It is Tierra Espana on ave. constituyentes...a small spanish tapas bar featuring great food from spain,,, a wonderful experience and great memories to be made there! This is the second best eatery in playa carmen outside of the Mayan Bistro.... give it a try, you wont regret it!
