My wife wanted to swim with dolphins and we saw some nice review of the park so we decided to spend a day while in Playa del Carmen. It's only 15 min away by car. The park is very nice and quite big. We arrived early (8.15am) to avoid queues and not take a risk of not being able to swim with the dolphins. We were welcomed by a friendly staf member who guided us through the process and could enter the park around 8.30am... We took the plus option wich includes the lunch and locker. We also took the evening dinner, two dolphin swim for my wife and son and a massage for me for a total around $600. We really enjoyed the day, everything was great. Food was great with lots of choice (we picked the restaurant next to the spa and jaguar). Do not miss the maya ceremony taking place at the mayan village at 5pm nor the evening show wich on his own justify the price you're paying for the day. But is unfortutely rather expensive especially if you add the swim with the dolphin and want to buy the nice pictures they will take for you...

We had a brilliant time at xcaret. There is so much to do here. I am surprised people are unhappy about the ticket price. Perhaps it is because we are used to London prices but we thought it was great value for money considering the amount on offer. If you have the energy to take it all in it is definately worth the ticket price, especially if you stick around for the evening show.

I was most looking forward to the snorkelling river but actually although this may be the main attraction I would recommend everything else there more highly.

We went on a Sunday and it wasnt to busy at all apart from in the lunch buffet hall.

First, I will advise that you cannot fully explore this park in less than two days. There is so much to see and do and learn about! On 18 cruises, I have done more excursions than I can count. But my hands down favorite thing to do is the underground river float at Xcaret. You wear a life vest and just float peacefully down the cool, glassy smooth river. I have never felt more relaxed than I did in that river! I would go back to Xcaret again and again, just to float down the river! The other highlight is the nightly Mexican Spectacular live show. This show truly has that "WOW factor"! It begins with exploration of the Mayan culture and their famous ball games. How awesome, to be able to watch a live Mayan ball game! It's like a step back in time. Then you are taken through the various stages in the history of Mexico, up to present day. There are beautiful costumes and music and even horses in some scenes. This is something that is not to be missed, if you are there at night! It is truly spectacular!

A park offering a lot of little things.. 2 pumas here, 2 raccoons there, 1 crocodile lost where nobody can see it.. it's a bit messy and too big for not much. The scenery is nice thanks to the green environment but from the same family, Xel-Ha would be much more worth the money.

We tried the Laguna restaurant, international buffet, it was good. We had it included in the ticket, otherwise the price of USD$30 would have been too pricey for what it is.

All in all, not a nightmare but very boring for what should have been a journey through excitement and discovery.

Dear Visitor,

We apologize for not be able to show you all the cultural, and natural beauty that we have in Xcaret, like our evening show “Xcaret Mexico Espectacular” where more than 300 artists in stage show us all the traditions and culture that we have in our country, starting for the ball game, continue with the conquest and finishing with the music and traditions that today conform Mexico; the aquarium, where you can see a lot of different marine species, you can feel the texture of a starfish, and admire the amazing colors of the coral reef; or like our House of Mexican Folk Art, where you can admire all the colors and forms of our culture and traditions embodied in every single craft made for our Mexican artisans. We would liked to be able to show you all of this and more. That´s why we ask you to give us a second chance and if you visit us again, please let us know to give you a personalized service.

Hope to visit us again.

The snorkeling pics taken by park are great, but the snorkeling is poor, no fish! Quite dark through most of snorkel trip and could have been made snorkel friendly with light or some fish.

Dear Visitor,

We apologize for haven´t reached your expectations.

Regarding your comment about the marine life into the rivers, let us comment you that because the sun light do not penetrate into the underground river, cannot afford the photosynthesis process, so it is impossible the growing of plants and as a consequence there are not fish inside. That is why you could appreciate marine life at the end of the river.

Thank you for share your experience with us. Hope to visit us again soon.

Best Regards!
