“Great place if you are in the area, but one day is enough”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2012

This is a beautifully designed theme park. It is spotless, well-maintained and friendly with no hidden costs or tricks (except costs for major optional activities like swimming with dolphins). That said, there is not really a lot to do here. You can look at about a dozen species of animals in enclosures (mantees, stingrays, turtles, flamingos, and a couple of big cats... . And you can sit on the man-made beach, but there are no animal shows or rides (except a silent boat ride, which is great for parents). Don't expect Sea World. The two really unique and memorable attractions included in the admission price are the "underground rivers" and the night show. The rivers are canals in deep (man-made) canyons and tunnels that even little kids can float down. The night show starts with a couple of Mayan ball games (one with a flaming ball), and a dramatic representation of the Spanish conquest. This part of the show is really incredible. The second act is almost all folk dances -- all very beautiful and professional, all with mostly live music. The optional meal during the performance was excellent: as good as any high-end restaurant.

“Day of the Dead”

The celebration for the cultural holiday was absolutely incredible and very authentic! We were able to paint our own faces, and feel really a part of the event. The play with the skeletons was very entertaining. I loved that as you were getting off the bus you could smell the sacred smoke of the copal tree being burned for purification as you walked through the gates. The Cemetary was exquisite in it's detail and beauty. Mayan food was available and all in all it was one of the highlights of my trip!

“Mind blowing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2012

This place already has a lot of great reviews but its so wonderful they deserve one more. From the moment I walked in my jaw kept dropping and I kept saying "look at this! Look at that!" And my jaw does not drop easily.

Surprisingly the "underground river" was the least memorable part but its a nice swim if its a hot day. Not much to see, time is better spent walking thorough the park, and it's a half mile unless you bail through one of the emergency exits. I'm going back for a second day to see the rest of the park and will skip the rivers.

The collection of animals of land, sea and air, and of flora, is just amazing. And the cultural stuff is all really well done, not cheesy at all. The food is even good. The Plus admission gives you a locker for the day, snorkel gear and towel, and buffet lunch with one drink for $30. You can eat enough at lunch to last you through the evening.

As I walked through the park I kept saying " who thought this stuff up?" There is just so much there. If you are in the area this is really worth it.

“Great show”

We only went in the afternoon mainly for the evening show. The dinner served during the show was excellent. Also if you buy the dinner you will have the best seats in the house.
