“Chichen Itza, Valladolid Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

We were worried that this tour would be canceled because when we left home there was not enough people signed up. However by the time we got to Playa there were two more and the tour was a go. We met Mitch at the office he was very friendly and recommended a snorkel company in Puerto Moreles for us as our previous years experience left us with some question. Eder was our guide I think the driver was Omar. They were both very friendly and chatty. Eder was very knowledgeable and well informed about Chichen Itza we learned a lot actually too much to remember. Chichen Itza is very hot and it was a cloudy day with a breeze. If you have heat issues take more than one water and an umbrella if you need one. This tour leaves early enough in the morning that it misses the big crowds absolutely perfect. There are a lot of vendors but they are not pushy and are set up like a mall along the paths. The Cenote was such a nice welcome after the hot tour again timing is everything we got here before the crowd and had a fantastic swim. We then stopped in Valladolid (sounds like BVajadolid) for shopping very nice little square. Because the group was small it made for a very nice experience we ended up with a total of nine. Thanks again YukaTreks your service was fantastic.

“Great Day Out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

We did the Chichen Itza and Vallodid day trip with Yuca Treks and had a fantastic day out , the highlight of our holiday. Eder, the guide and Omar the driver were first class and very friendly and easy going. There were only 6 of us on the trip, our family of 4 and another couple so it was almost a private trip. We were picked up promptly and Eder clearly explained the itinerary as we set off. There were snacks and drinks all day with a welcome sandwich before the ruins. We always seemed a step ahead of the main tour groups which made viewing Chichen Itza a lot easier. Eder was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and able to clearly explain our questions. The information we gained enabled us to visit Tulum and Coba later in the holiday with a basic understanding. We had enough time at the site before heading off to Cenote Samula for a cooling swim. It was really picturesque with giant tree roots passing down into the water.Again we were on our own for about 20 minutes before other groups arrived. Lunch was a private affair with a delicious buffet of Mexican food. On the return we had a stroll around Vallodid with time for a drink in the square and a visit to the prison where they make hammocks of superb quality. Unfortunately we have nowhere to put one of these or we would have bought one. We had a great day out and I would highly recommend Yuca Treks for an entertaining day out and a chance to enjoy this “must- see” site in comfort

“Wonderful, laid back day with great guide”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

We really enjoyed our day with YucaTreks. Steve our guide was very knowledgable and both Steve and our driver Omar were really personable and friendly and made it a great day for everyone. We took the Tulum and Beyond tour and it was a perfect mix of the mayan ruins nice and early in the day, with stops at two cenotes, both unique in their own ways. Lunch (delicous) and hanging out at a stunning Tulum beach was in between the cenotes visits. It was just the right amount of things to do for a full but relaxing day. Tip: I would recommend bringing a waterproof camera to the cenotes so you could snorkle with it and get some nice shots. Otherwise, it was recommended to leave valuables in the van which included non-waterproof cameras, etc. And you will want photos of the cenotes!

“Like travelling with friends”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

This is a late review of a trip I took in November 2012. We booked a tour to Chichen Itza with YucaTreks and were very please with the trip. There were only four of us on the tour, with a driver and guide. Our guide was very knowledgeable and both men were friendly. Were got to tour Chichen Itza at our own pace and stopped at a Cenote on the way back. We also had some of the most amazing tacos (and variations thereof) at a food court in Valladolid.

I've done the big bus thing and I would say to avoid that at all costs. Go with YucaTreks and you won't be disappointed.
