We enjoyed the hotel and its facilities very much. The staff is very friendly, helpful and nice. The rooms are clean and of high standard. We did not like the dark light of the bathroom. The food is excellent in all restaurants. Breakfast opulent Beach nice but a little bit small. Golf course very well maintained and great to play. You can see a lot of animals including crocodiles and monkeys.Would go again.

Room tip: Serenity pool villa is very nice

Peaceful, serene, attentive and beautiful. Highly recommend. Spa is terrific, all the restaurants are wonderful and the grounds are very well kept. The villa we stayed in was roomy, had everything needed and everything wanted! We highly recommend this for anyone looking to unwind and recharge.

My family and I spent 5 days at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba and we had one of our best vacations ever. To say the service was top notch is an understatement, the management of the resort has developed a culture of service that pervades the staff top to bottom. Within a day or two staff from all across the resort knew me and my kids by name. Two of my children are gluten free, and at every restaurant the chef would come out and go through all their options and what could be made special for them. This all stems from Juan Carlos, who was the director of food and beverage, who himself found me as soon as he could during our stay to reassure two parents that their children would be well taken care of.

This is just a singular example of the care the staff shows throughout. There were many people who made our trip just that little extra special, some of them were:

Juan Carlos (as mentioned above)
Raul, Jesus, and Emmanuel at Oriente
Carlos at the beach
Juan Jose and Armando at the pool bar, who took time to explain about the tequilas and mezcals and educated me on many of them
Andrea at the concierge (a very patient woman!)
Jana at the tours desk

Beyond the staff and service, it was of course a beautiful resort with a wonderful villa and great food (though the food isn't cheap, be warned - worth it as it was excellent but it adds up). We stayed at a 3BR family villa which was perfect for us, and enjoyed all the aspects of the resort as well as a trip to Tulum.

If you are considering any of the hotels of the area, and feel that service makes a difference, then go to the Banyan Tree Mayakoba. You will not be disappointed.

This luxury resort is located inside Mayakoba area -complex. It has a spectacular arquitecture, design and decor, from the lobby-reception area to the rest of the public areas and rooms- villas. It is set among waterways or canals - really amazing. The rooms -villas not only are quite big, over 3,000 sq feet and more, all have a private pool, terrace, living area, great amenities. Service is one of the characteristics of this hotel, it is impecable.
The spa is thai inspired and part of the staff is from Thailand, big massage rooms and the pools -rain forest experience is not to be missed. You can take your bicycle to the beach or one of the very chic boats too, a great ride !! Also if you like golf this resort shares the "Camaleon" Golf course, a PGA course.

Room tip: Ask for a room next to one of the canals - great family villas too.
