Just spent 10 wonderful days at Andaz Mayakoba and enjoyed the hotel immensely. Stayed at the beach and enjoyed our time immensely. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, from housekeeping to the front desk, to the drivers and servers. Everyone was friendly and willing to go out of their way to help.

The resort is large, set in a beautiful and peaceful natural area. Electric golf carts are used to transport guests around the property (boats and bikes are also available which is a fun touch).

I would have given this a 5 star rating, except the beach was being worked on our entire stay. They were adding sand to expand the beach, so there was heavy equipment working on the beach right in front of the hotel rooms. But this didn't take much way from our stay. The pools were great and well-tended.

Room tip: While the beach rooms are away from the main hotel area, golf carts were always available for trips back to the lobby.

Hola Onandonandon! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am very glad to hear that you enjoyed a relaxing and warm stay. We do apologize for the inconveniences caused by our beach project, but as a result I must say the Caribbean ocean had never looked so good! I hope you came back soon so we can improve your last experience with renewed views. Best regards, Lin Schatz.

We had a good trip to the Andaz property. Food was really good Casa Amate was our fav. Servers David and Jorge were great. Breakfast buffet staff and food was super nice as well. Whole staff was extra friendly and went out of their way to make sure you had a pleasant stay. Property and room were well kept and super clean and nice, they upgraded our room which was a special treat. Bikes were fun to ride around and golf carts to the beach helped to break it up. They are in the process of widening the entire beach for all of Mayakoba, the first day they were finishing Andaz so they sent us to Rosewood. This may have spoiled us a little too much but if you are paying as much as the Rosewood guests you should be pampered. Anyway we came back to Andaz the next day and it is still nice but just not the same as Rosewood. The free drinks in the room were a nice touch along with the Boat tour and Cenote tour.

Hola Jeremy L! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Our concept is unique and very different from our Mayakoba sister properties, we believe in a barrier-free and culturally rich experience which I am very glad to hear that you enjoyed. Hopefully this will be the first of many more Mayakoba visits to come. Best regards, Lin Schatz.

We had a one week 7 night vacation in Mexico, and Playa del Carmen was one of the stops for three nights. Out of all the hotels we stayed at, the Andaz was the most "complete" and traditional large hotel vacation of them all. The hotel has a pool, restaurants, spa, gym, parking lot, dry cleaning, etc - but the beach is not as nice in playa del carmen as it is on the other side like Tulum beach. This hotel also had some families and kids, so its a better place for families than the smaller boutique hotels that are more isolated. One of my favorite parts of the hotel is the gym, its glass on both sides with beautiful views, it was actually fun to work out here with my boyfriend! The pool is amazing, animal floaties, servers bringing food and drinks, fun music playing, more of a traditional Mexican vacation.

This resort is the newest in the Mayakoba resort complex. There are three other resorts here (Banyan Tree, Fairmont, and Rosewood). There is also a gorgeous PGA golf course on the property. All of the resorts are beachfront and connected by natural lagoons and protected jungles with tons of birds and animals enjoying their natural habitat.
This hotel is extremely modern and beautifully landscaped. The employees here are ALWAYS ready to help with anything and everything. The best part is that it is very apparent that they all enjoy their jobs and it showed in their sincerity to assist in making our stay memorable.
We rode the bikes provided by the hotel to one of the other hotels in Mayakoba for a swim and cocktails. The resort was also beautiful, but we all decided we wanted to quickly return to Andaz because the staff was so much nicer.
We stayed in a beach front room vice a lagoon room. Either would have been amazing, but the beach front room was worth the extra money. Sunrise, beach views, the closeness to the beach pool and two delicious restaurants were just a few of the perks for staying on the beach.
If I return to Playa del Carmen, I intend on staying here again.
