This is my second review of el pirata, we were here last december and tried el pirata because of the reviews. Last week we came again for our first day lunch, and the fish was amazing, super fresh and perfectly cooked, after 3 days, we went back again for a late lunch, it was 3pm and the place was full with people still waiting to get a table, we didnt want to wait so we ended up next door in manigua, not the best....i wont be reviewing that place. Next time, i'll just stick with el pirata, there is a reason why it's full no matter what time you get there.

A must visit if you are looking for local fair. Very popular with the local crowd. You will know why when you visit. We waited for 15 min at 2 pm to get a table. 15 peso cervezas cooled us off, followed by shrimp cocktails. Entrees were EXCELLENT! The decor is nothing to write about but quality of food more than makes up for it. We left a hefty tip because the prices are VERY modest.

We went for an early lunch, 12 noon, and the place was pretty well empty. We shared a whole deep fried grouper and fish tacos. Food was pretty nice, but pleasure was somewhat spoiled by booming inane music. Otherwise pleasant experience, table in the shade on the beach. But will we be back? Also don't take credit cards, somewhat unusual.

Amazing seafood! Order the large ceviche mixed seafood platter. Fish filet or shrimp el diabla is fantastic. Plenty of kick, but not over the top. Although we've had many great meals, this is absolutely the best so far!

Was here in march 2011.
Hard to find, but fresh seafood as it should be.
From memory, it is open until the catch of the day is all gone....
Good prices..
Search it out, for something you will enjoy..
