Everything I tried was great even desert and the garden was just beautiful and romantic. Looking forward to having dinner there again on our return to Playa

i had breaded shrimp with a cinnamon sauce here that was out of this world. never tasted a saujce like that before. absolutely wonderful. try it for sure if you get here. wife had chicken, friends, fish, quesadilla, flan etc. they all liked it and food they said was good. think i was the only one to rave about it, and that sauce i can still taste. was a neat place, and lots of tables, but the way it was set up, made you almost think you were in this "cave of the monkeys" by yourself. Abril's children just loved it there as they could go around the tropical forest like resturaunt watching all the fish in the different pools and little streams inside. although we were like a family group outing, this would be a very romatic setting for two also. this is at the very end of 5th ave so perhaps not as well known or visited but sure worth the trip.

Went to dinner on Trip Advisors recommendation. Great atmosphere, eating outdoors like a tropical jungle! Ah, until the rain began. Too few umbrellas , so we moved indoors. Ordered drinks –a Margarita and a beer. Wife says it's the best Margarita in PDC. I asked for a glass for my beer; it never came. Before ordering we were given 3 small bowls of sauces. Expected tortilla chips, they never came. I ordered the habiniero soup and it was terrific! One of the daily specials was shrimp served with a black mushroom sauce. It sounded so good we both ordered it. Big disappointment. The sauce was almost tasteless. You'd expect mushrooms, or at least pieces of mushrooms, in a mushroom sauce? Not this one –not even a hint. The service was poor, there seemed to be too few staff for the dinner crowd. Food overall was average at best.

We had a table for 10 come here for breakfast. It was a super charming atmosphere. The kitchen is in sight and you can watch them make your breakfast. Great fresh sqeezed orange juice but it is served warm or room temp, we asked for ice on the side. The food was yummy and there were turtles swimming in the pond. We also saw an iguana on the enterance. The only down fall was that my daughter is a very picky eater but loves pancakes and they did not have any on the menu. We asked but they said they could only make bananas ones. The fruit platter was great that we got her. Also the french toast was very good.
