“Exquisite food that won't break bank”

After walking all of la Quinta avenida, we finally came around to this place, and we're glad we did. Excellent atmosphere (sat under a huge palapa), excellent service (got free margaritas just for choosing to eat there), excellent staff (friendly and inviting), excellent plate presentation (very detailed oriented cook), and delicious food (I ordered the famous Tampiqueña plate that's been on the menu since 2000.) The check came out to about $12 per person, which is nothing compared to the expensive restaurants on La Quinta Avenida. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and would definitely come back next time around!

“made me happy :)”

This little restaurant is situated at the famous Quinta Avenida, It is decorated in a very traditional Mexican style. The staff is friendly and attentive. Food is good and well priced in comparison to the other restaurants around. The thing that made it different from all the rest is that they have local beers. You can still get the famous sol and corona BUT they stock beers that to my taste can be even better!! Try the "Pacifico" or the "Montejo" from the local brewery and also the "Victoria" which is not for export and is pride of the Mexican produce (the tv ads are very funny, are short stories of Americans trying to smuggle this beer into the US and they always get busted LOL). We were served a portion of totopos (fried tortilla cuts, the traditional finger food that inspired the tex-mex nacho) with salsa... on the house, yummy. :)
just go, sit, have a great time, see the world pass by... with great food and drink!

“Gem in Playa del Carmen”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Ate there just last night! Had a lovely stay at Playa del Carmen with my husband and four daughters and on our last night, decided to try out La Vagabunda, after reading their outdoor menu. Everything we ordered was delicious and my cranberry margarita to die for! The service was impeccable. Our waiter was Gerardo and he was very attentive and polite. Would definitely recommend anyone visiting Playa del Carmen to visit La Vagabunda.
