Description: In July 1996 Blue lobster opens in Playa del Carmen to become a favorite of locals and tourists to enjoy a delicious lobster, fish and seafood. Built with tropical wood, stone slab, thatched roofs and waterfalls that give an extra relaxation touch. We always try to satisfied and exceed our customers’ expectations. Excellent food, polite waiters and a fantastic view of the fifth Avenue will make you spend an unforgettable night. We have capacity for 130 persons on two levels and an air conditioning area to 22. Blue lobster makes a compromising bet on mexican wine and regional sea dishes that result in a perfect union. They have created perfect unions for their wines’ selection through a very special menu that proposes the perfect combination between their gastronomy and their wines. As three dishes’ menu with different wine suggestions in order to please every palate: reds, whites, roses and foamy wines.

It was a monster. 1.5 lbs. It was really good, but you pay for it. Service was average. Right next to clubs, so go early for dinner...

A pretty high end on the scale of tourist food with a good selection of fresh seafood. The service was slow at every point despite a half full restaurant. Steamed lobster was massive but overcooked. Good caipirhina from the bar, and the highlight was the seafood salad of ceviche, mango and coconut. (that was worth ordering) For over $100 spent on dinner and high hopes from Tripadvisor reviewers I'd probably look elsewhere unless you have a family and are looking to give everyone a safe and easy tour of an approximation of decent seafood. This isn't a foodies' place to eat.

My girlfriend and I, along with another couple went here one night around the 10th of March. The steaks were ok, but way overpriced. Service was good. BUT, her and I ordered shrimp ceviche as an appetizer. That night we both got food poisoning - explosive diarrhea, painful guts, vomiting, you name it we got it. Despite both of us piling on immodium, 15 days later it still has not really gone away and we have been home for a week now! I have read other reviews and some people have gotten e.coli from here. Stay tuned as we are both going to the doctor here to see what's wrong! But in the meantime, for your own health, DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!

We regret that this happened, but Blue Lobster have high standards of hygiene and food products.
We respect your opinion and the opinion of others.
That night we served many visitors and close friends who also dined at blue lobster and have not heard from anyone sick.
We appreciate your visit but we are concerned direct accusation as we have since 1991 working hard to achieve a high level of service and quality dishes.

We went here with some local friends for my birthday. The atmosphere is really nice and the food wonderful. It is obviously a very popular place because it was full by 8 PM.

I had the coconut shrimp. They were jumbo sized and delicious, but too many for me to eat, so my husband was happy to help.

Two of our friends had a chicken pasta dish which they both enjoyed. Even the French fries were hot and good, very important to my husband who is English.

We ate out on a covered patio where we could smoke after dinner, something we miss in the US.

The menu was extensive and the staff very efficient. They presented me with a special dessert and sang "Happy Birthday" to me.

Food overall and drinks were good. Service was pretty good. My complaint was this was Spring Break, we had 20 small kids and they sat us in the middle of the restaurant with TVs with March Madness basketball on, and then got mad when we were cheering.
