Although we were a 3:00am arrival, It was wonderful to see a friendly face who led us directly to our room for some much needed rest. I can't say enough about the staff whom were always attentive and knowledgeable to make our stay special. When I was down with a 24hr bug which kept me in bed, Paolo went out of her way to make sure I received much needed electrolytes. Barbara was also very helpful when I lost my credit card and had to cancel it immediately. Lesley hooked us up with "Aventuras Mayas "whereby we took a great snorkeling tour to Akumal. Across from "Hotel Casa Ticul" is the Chocolate Café which serves up the best cappuccino and hot or cold chocolate drinks. For a taste of fresh local fish and food go where the locals go "El Pirata." Make a left out of "Hotel Casa Ticul ," It is right around the corner. So much to do on 5th Ave. Bring a good pair of walking shoes.

Room Tip: Although we didn't stay in the room I took a peek at the suite with the balcony. Next time we...

I can't say enough good things about the hotel, the staff and the location. The staff went above and beyond by even helping me to plan a birthday surprise for my boyfriend while we were there. I would definitely recommend to friends and family and we plan to stay there again in the future! Thank you Casa Ticul for making so many great memories!

The good stuff:

- The staff are amazing. Paola & Barbara will do whatever they can do make your stay a good one. The customer service was incredible.
- The daily breakfast is wonderful. Always delicious, well-prepared and served with a smile. The perfect start to the day.
- The location on the north end of 5th Ave means you're only steps to the action and the beach but set back just far enough that a short walk will take you out of the craziness of the club zone.
- The A/C was probably the best I've experienced in Mexico. It was consistent and kept the room cool without being noisy.
- Love the little courtyard/pool area, the rest areas on every level and the rooftop breakfast area!

The stuff that could use some work:
- The wifi didn't work almost ever. They were admittedly having some issues during our stay but nothing had been solved by the time we checked out. We had better luck with wifi at the restaurant across the street.
- There was a lot of construction noise from behind the hotel. PDC is a hot-bed of new construction right now so it's nothing the hotel can control but we stayed on the ground level and it sounded as if the hammers were being swung directly into the opposite side of the wall. Not so bad if you want to be up at 7 am every day and don't expect to get an afternoon siesta...

We would stay again but not until after the construction behind the hotel is complete.

Room Tip: I don't know where you could stay to avoid the construction noise. We heard it everywhere includ...

Nothing but praising words for this hotel. Very kind and forthcoming reception staff (Paola, Barbara & Caro, all of them amazing hosts), room was spacious and clean, location is quite good (in 5th Avenue but not in the center of all the fuss, so good sleep quality), breakfast was fine (I advise managers to improve the variety) - everyday two lovely ladies (Vero and Juana) prepare an absolutely delicious "specialty of a day". Stayed here based on the previous reviews and I am glad I did so. Excellent value for many, - definitely, highly recommended!

This was our third year and it met all our expectations. The staff is superior and very accommodating. I should add that we stay for weeks and see all the inner workings of this wonderfully run Hotel. Handy to anything you would want to do. I have no doubt we will be returning in the future.

NB
Staff treats you like family.

We stayed here based on other reviews and are glad we did so. This is a very nice, clean, safe, small hotel with great service and a great location. The morning breakfast on the roof is perfect to jump start your day. This hotel is on 5th and there is some street noise but not bad. Carolina checked us in and was very helpful. We took advantage of the beach access at Las Palapas which was a short walk from the hotel. We stayed in room 20 which had the only balcony and it was worth the upgrade. Highly recommend!

The beach club options always make our guests happy. Each with their different qualities, does enjoy a perfect holiday in Playa del carmen.

Casa Ticul is very far from everything and the beach. Located at the very end of the main strip in Playa del Carmen, it is a far walk from a nice beach and from central restaurants. We had to take a taxi frequently to the other side of the avenue, which ran us $5 each time. The beach nearest to the hotel smells VERY strongly of open sewage. We nicknamed Playa del Carmen "Stinky beach" because of our experience on this side of the town. The hotel was nice, but it seems you could do better for the price. The rooms are VERY dark all day, with very little light filtering through because of the shaded hallways. Beds were not as comfortable as hoped and the room temperature was difficult to get right with a/c. Breakfast was excellent.

Room Tip: The junior suites are probably a better choice, as they are on higher floors and may have more light...

We are located on Fifth Avenue, with walking distance to the best restaurants but even without noise which is the center or the heart of Fifth Avenue.

You can still walk without feeling for the different shops and get to any of our beach club for the day.
That's why it makes our location ticul house is preferred by many!
