Upon arival, it was clear that this resort was much nicer than the average All Inclusive in Cancun/Playa Del Carmen. The check in was seemless and the rooms were very clean and upscale. The only downside was there was no real beach area to swim in becaus they kept it as natural as possible. The family did not miss it because the pools were very nice. But what the family really liked was the kayaking down the river to the ocean was fantastic. My son and I loved rising bikes down trails and when we gor to hot, took a dip in one of the many cenotes (Pools where underground rivers broke the surface from a cave in) The water was so clear and the fish were awesome. The food was varied and had something for every taste. The entertainment in the evening was very fun.

Dear Guest:
Thank your for sharing your experience on Tripadvisor.
We are glad to read you had a good time at Hacienda Tres Rios and were able to enjoy our Tres Rios Nature Park as well with its 326 acres of pristine tropical rainforests intersected by three winding freshwater rivers, decorated by ten fascinating cenotes (cave-like sinkholes with natural wells), home to 120 species of plants and 90 species of animals. It is the only nature park in the Yucatan Peninsula that includes three distinct ecosystems: jungle, mangrove forest, and coastal dunes.
Come back soon, it will be our pleasure to be your host again.

We had an amazing time at Tres Rios. Loved the beaches on the bed, the cenote river snorkel trip, kayaking through the mangroves, the sensory adventure, and scuba diving around the reef off the resort! We really enjoyed the nightly Martini bar! The only drawback was the lack of privacy in the room for a family with teens. I would recommend booking two rooms. The staff were all very nice. I also enjoyed the roaming Iguanas, river fish, and birds. We were joining up with family who had two young girls (ages 5-6) who had a wonderful time enjoying the pools and beaches. We took advantage of the Thursday night camp out babysitting service at the kids club.

I truly loved your Resort and everything on the property was absolutely beautiful, and the staff you have working are the best of the best. The restaurants and the food were excellent and the presentation and service were just as good. Your nightly events and entertainment were perfect for a friendly family get away. Your conciege Melissa was a helpful beautiful young lady and Mirsa the Hostess was great as well. Your bartender at the pool Aldaberto and the bartender on the deck at night were also very good and personable. I worked at Hyatt Hotels for many years and I know how hard it is to pull off your nighly events on the beach and the Ocean. The staff pulled together every day in the brutal heat to take care of business so that everything would go off on time. I only wished I would have wrote down some of your other valuable staff to recognize them as well but i was having too much fun, I would definately come back again without thinking twice. keep up the good work your staff are amazing... Sincerely, Robert Zancanella

This is our fifth year visiting Tres Rios and as usual we had a wonderful vacation. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make sure we have an enjoyable and relaxing time; especially Samuel, Oscar, Gregorio, and Andrina! Even when problems occur they quickly address the issue and ensure we are satisfied. When we visit we are treated like family and that makes us feel special. We love Tres Rios and look forward to many more vacations with them.

We recently stayed at Tres Rios and were very disappointed. From the time we checked in and found out they only had one of our two rooms. Matoya at the front desk did not seem the least bit phased by this. Said that he could send our three children (age 10, 14 & 17) on a 45 min shuttle to their sister hotel in Cancun, while my husband and I stayed there. Not an option. They kept blaming the booking company but we found out once we got home that the confirmation numbers come from the hotel and we had a number for each room. They had overbooked the hotel and we had to suffer. The five of us stayed in one room and had to repack our things the next day and move from a room that faced the pools and ocean to a room that faced tree tops. At least we had the two rooms. We spent several trips back to the front desk to see if they could refund that second room but after several days the only thing that Gina offered was a small credit at the hotel – which is all inclusive - would rather have the credit. The property is beautiful and there are several great employees. The front desk just was not very responsive. There are lots of things to do there. A favorite was the river where you can kayak and snorkel. Towards the end of our trip some friends had their sons rushed out of the water because of an alligator! The food at the buffet is just ok. We have stayed at another all-inclusive down the road and I wish it would have been more similar to that. For the amount of money we paid, it was very disappointing. We read some negative reviews before our trip but we are not high maintenance and thought it can't be that bad. Next time I'll listen to the reviews and choose someplace else. Not a relaxing trip. The front desk hassle made it very stressful. And the time share talk was high pressure and another waste of precious family time on vacation. Not worth the hassle.

Jaime the waiter and Oswaldo the bell boy provided exceptional and professional service with a smile. Their consistent friendly help throughout my holiday made all the difference to me feeling welcome.
