We were looking for a quiet get-away to rest and relax. We also needed a place that was easy to get to. Le Reve fit the bill perfectly. This hotel is a wonderful little oasis tucked between large all inclusive resorts. With only 25 rooms, Le Reve feels extremely intimate. And it's just 45 minutes south of Cancun. The staff is super friendly and the property is clean and well kept. We had the Horizon Ocean View room overlooking the pool with a view of the sea between the palm trees. There was never a problem finding a lounge chair on the beach or by the pool (and they were super comfortable). We ate at the hotel most days and the food was YUMMY! The drinks were good too (although they were a bit pricey). And the evening turn down service with the fresh baked pastries was such a nice treat every night! We went into Playa a few times and found the crowds to be overwhelming. Coming back to the quiet of Le Reve was perfect. If you are looking for peaceful vacation this is the place!

We traveled to Le Reve in March 2013. It was fantastic. We have a short list of places that we want to return to, but Le Reve has made it to the top. We were looking for a quiet place to recoup, rest and relax. This was the place. There was never a problem getting a lounge chair at the pool or on the beach. The poolside bar service was amazing, Antonia was wonderful. They make a serious Coco Loco, served in a coconut (delicious). The service all around was impeccable. The restaurant was fantastic. We loved the Duck Salbutes, Tres Leches, Chilaquiles, and Guac. Ismael was our waiter most of the week and he was awesome.

We stayed in a bungalow which had a small pool off the porch and thatched roof. Even with the doors shut we could hear the ocean. It had an incredibly comfortable king bed. My husband got a massage on the beach and he found it very good. The services are offered overlooking the ocean, but it does not seem to be a predominate part of the business.

If you are looking for a secluded getaway to unplug and rest all while enjoying a beautiful country this is totally the place for you!

Nice hotel with friendly staff and nice beach, rooms are clean and pretty and the ground floor garden was a nice treat.

Pool was clean and refreshing and the beds and hammocks on the beach were comfortable.

The rooms are made a second time in the evening and nice little fresh dessert is left, each day different. Very nice detail.

Though this is definitely a very decent hotel, there are a few important minor points:
1- as described in other comments there are sharp stones in the sea in front of the hotel so nearly impossible to go in for a swim.
2- for some mysterious reason there was 15% service charge on top of the room rate. We stayed in 4 different hotels in the area and this was the only one to have this. It seems a bit sneaky and I believe it would be more honest to just include this in the room rate...
3- we both got unwell after eating pasta for dinner at the hotel restaurant one night
4- the hotel is very secluded, there are no restaurants or shops where you can get to by foot
5- after asking for recommendation at reception for a nice restaurant in the area we can walk to by foot over the beach, we were referred to a hotel restaurant 6km from our hotel...
6- the rooms don't have wifi. This is annoying as it can rain some afternoons and it is not optimal for preparing trips. There is wifi in the restaurant, pool area but this is so slow that I even gave up loading a normal web page...
7- bed was only queen size

In conclusion, very decent hotel but could do with a bit mod make-over. It is quite annoying that you are tied to the hotel once you're there because there are no restaurants, shops in the area.

My husband and I were looking for a romantic and quiet get away and that is exactly what we found at Le Reve. The hotel blends in so well with nature with its green garden and its rustic design with straw roof and wooden beams. The hotel is right on the beach and we started every morning in the hammock underneath a palm tree, followed by a wonderful breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice. The restaurant opens up to the ocean and it feels like you are eating outside. Since the temperature is so pleasant that is exactly what we wanted. In fact, the whole hotel feels very open, allowing the sun and ocean breeze to follow you wherever you go. We stayed in one of the bungalows. It had a private little pool and a small deck, where we spent several evenings listening to the ocean. The king size bed was so comfortable and everything was nice and clean. The service was amazing and you can tell the staff put a lot of thought into the little details. We were welcomed with a drink and we would find little treats on our bed every day. I liked how private the hotel felt. I never really noticed the other guests, even though it was full most of the time we were there. Another benefit of going to a small boutique hotel I suppose. This hotel is perfect if you want an intimate and romantic stay with your partner, or a relaxing weekend with your best friends. If you are looking for party and action, this is not the spot for you.

My wife and I wanted to go somewhere in the Caribbean to celebrate our five year wedding anniversary, but really didn't know where to start looking. We had heard about Le Reve from a friend who had stayed there, so we gave it a shot. Very glad we did. The hotel was rustic but refined. The level of service was superb, the food was great and our room was incredible. Probably the most comfortable bed that I've ever slept on. The concierge was able to give us tips of places to go that weren't totally overrun by tourists, and based on her advice we felt like we were able to blend in with the locals and find the hidden gems that are so difficult to discover.

It felt like we had the hotel/beach/pool all to ourselves, like it was our private little getaway. That wouldn't be surprising on a slow day during the week, but I was shocked when the concierge told me on Saturday that every room was full - it still felt like our private little spot. One day we walked down the beach to Playa and, after seeing the beachfront of the big resorts, we really appreciated the feel of Le Reve. Some of the bigger resorts had beach chairs set up 10 or 20 rows deep. At Le Reve, we never felt too close to anybody else and all of the chairs were right on the water on a huge stretch of beach. They had a couple of hammocks strung up and I don't ever recall wanting to lounge in the hammock but finding that someone else was already in it. When we made the booking I wasn't sure if we had made a mistake by not going to a bigger place, but once we were there I knew we absolutely made the right decision. It always feels so cool when you find a small place that you feel like is your hidden secret. Speaking of hidden, the road into the hotel is a little hard to find and bumpy, but once we found the hotel we were glad to have driven all the way to the end of that road (since the road ends at the beach, and that's where we wanted to be). Our crappy rent-a-car had no difficulty navigating the road, it was just a bit bumpy. If your looking for a romantic getaway, I can't imagine anything much better than the 5 days we spent at Le Reve.

Had the best time, great people, sleek pool, beautiful beach, and the cool breezes, and warm water. The food "The Best", breakfast was always a treat as was dinner. Great big shower, with hot water, high pressure rain forest head, and fresh clean water, not salty water which alot of hotels have down there Thanks Everyone, See Ya soon D&D

The hotel is perfect for romantic couples stay: it is small, sophisticated, well-maintained, no kids, no other hotels/people next door. We stayed at the last beach bungalow. The ocean view is spectacular! Beach access takes just 30 seconds!!
All the staff is very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. The chief manager gave us the best recommendations of where to go in the town, what to see around, names of must-see places. We rent a car there, so we just needed right directions to go to. Jacqueline is a great manager and knows how to meet every person's demand.
The food was delicious: always fresh, great local cuisine appropriate for the Europeans. The Maya Crepes in breakfast menu are unforgettable!!!
There was a little event at the hotel during our stay: a pool cocktail of a local magazine. The nice beach and pool decorations made a lovely change, the ambiance was friendly and very cozy... Even if the music was not loud, it was switched off at 11 pm.
We have definitely enjoyed the stay and would like to go back to Le Reve!
Thanx for a wonderful time there!
