This meal was excellent and the waiter was also. My husband wanted his fish grilled whole, and I wanted a fillet. They accommodated us both by removing my fillet from the other side of his fish. It was a large red snapper stored on ice. The prices were marked on the fish. It was served with salsa and chips, rice and a vegetable. We thought the price was only for the fish, but the sides were included at no extra charge. We returned another night for dinner, and ordered from the menu. My husband had plentiful, delicious coconut battered shrimp. I was dissappointed with my fish selection that night. It was salty and I couldn't eat it. Maybe they serve the fillets from the whole fish they do not sell previously. They salt it to preserve it? I learned to ask if it is fresh! Fun to watch people passing by and waiting for bus accross the street. This restaurant is on the block facing the Mega grocery store.

Our cab driver recommended this place to us and we were all very happy he did! The ambiance was great, the food was fresh and delicious and the service was impeccable! 6 of us ate there for lunch on Feb 3, 2013 and we were all impressed. Highly recommend stopping in!

After having a fantastic dinner last Saturaday evening I asked if they could accommodate 18 for the following Friday February 1, they said yes they could. We arrived on time and were seated right away. They took our drink orders and then our dinners orders promptly. One appetizer appeared followed by another couple a few minutes later. This continued for about 30 minutes with my wife waiting for an hour her shrimp cocktail. At this time the main course started coming out for some of the guests while some of us still had not received appetizers. At about 1hour after we had orderd. I spoke to our server about our appetizers. He checked and said they would be out in a minute, 10 minutes later he came back and said we would have to order a different appetizer as they could not prepare the calmari this evening. We canceled our appetizers and waited for our main course. At this time the people at the other end of the were finished their dinners and we still from had not received our main courses. Finally the manager came over and told us they were having trouble with some equipment in the kitchen and it was making it difficult for them to serve us. We finally received our main courses after waiting about 1 3/4 hours. Last week the food was fantastic, this week the cocoanut shrimp was soggy and full of oil and the vegetables were cold, the paella was bland and mushy, the half kilo of shrimp was to salty, it was like we were in a totally different restaurant.
After telling us he was having trouble in his kitchen it did not stop him from accepting another large group of about 20 people who walked in off the street and he told them to come back in about 30 minutes. I could not understand how he was accepting another big party when he had just told me the reason we were getting such bad service was because the kitchen had equipment problems.
This is not a place to bring a large party as they don't seem to know how to handle it. In general the drinks food and service were very poor last night.

My husband wanted good fish tacos and one of the staff members at our resort recommended La Pesca to us, we hesitated a bit as we were planning on heading to 5th ave but decided to give it a try and we are glad we did!

The food was AMAZING - the fish tacos were hands down the best we've ever had, the paella was fresh and full of sea food; other diners in our party had the special combination of the day which was lobster and shrimp and another had the coconut shrimp and chicken quesadilla all of which were so delicious....it was one of the best meals we've ever had.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, we got a table right up front looking out over the street and it was exactly what you'd think sitting in a Mexican seafood restaurant in Playa should feel like.

We will be going back!

We ate at La Pesca at the recommendation of two locals working at the resort where we were staying. Location wasn't much to write home about but the food was delicious. We had fresh fish made for 2 with garlic. A side of fresh steamed vegetable and rice. Price was reasonable.
