We stumbled across this gem near the end of our stay, and wished we had it earlier. We were pleased to see both vegetarian and meat-based choices, with my wife choosing Vegetarian Quesedillas, and I chose Cochinita Pibil. Both choices were excellent, with large portions. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We were quite surprised to discover a charming open-air restaurant behind the walls of a rather unimpressive looking building on the main street of the old town. About 30 tables are grouped under/near a large tree in the patio, creating a delightful ambiance. A small stage for live music was set up for later than we dined. The waiters were very friendly, the service excellent, and the food fantastic, especially the Yucatan specialties. (Be sure to have something made with chaya which is similar to spinach.) It seemed reasonably priced, especially in comparison to Cancun prices. We found the restaurant quite by accident on our first night in Merida and returned on our third and last night because we couldn't find another restaurant equal to it.
