Nice atmosphere in the lovely patio and some vegetarian food on offer….a nice change should you ever get tired of fish and meat :) Service and food were good! The restaurant is easy to find and is located in the city centre.

We went on a Saturday night, so many people and few waiters serving them. However the atmosphere was very appealing. The restaurant is set in an old colonial house with most of the seating in a courtyard under mature trees. There was a guitar singer. Lots of choices for vegetarians-- I had Chaya crepes. My husband had a very excellently prepared salmón. Kids had avocado pizza. The only complaint besides the service was the fact that there were smokers nearby-- the kids could smell while we were eating.

Amaro has very good food, friendly service and a nice courtyard atmosphere. For vegetarians and vegans, it is definitely the best place in town. Vegetarian fajitas in particular are quite good! Be sure to ask for some picante on the side, their combination of habanero, olive oil, and lime juice is a great little extra! Pretty decent drinks as well, especially the chaya and tequila drink. There are definitely cheaper places around, but this is a solid restaurant and I definitely recommend it!

We happened on Amaro one evening during our 4 night stay in Merida and so happy we wandered in. A guitarist was playing, it's a quiet dark courtyard with great atmosphere. The food/drinks were very good. We ordered a pizza, and it was much too big for the two of us. Service was excellent.
