Loved seeing the ruins and hearing the history and stories. We used Auto Progreso and were very pleased with the prices, bus, and tour guide Ivan and driver Antonio. It was quiet and peaceful there. The ruins are accessible and some you can climb on and explore. I recommend this tour.

Was so very pleased to take the tour of this site! Our tour was purchased through the cruise line and priced reasonably well. Time to get to the ruins was not bad and got to explore a lot on our own once the guides spoke about the history etc. There's a really nice natural spring pool there to swim in and it's just beautiful! There is quite a bit of walking on rocky grounds that could be difficult for some as the ruins are quite spread out over a very large area. Bring water to drink! the only negative of this excursion was the museum was closed (every Monday). You are allowed to climb on most of the ruins, but be careful! Beautiful birds and lots of jungle, so stay on trails and wear very comfortable walking shoes. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat!

Dzibilchaltun (Tiz Bill Chal Toon) Is a very lovely Mayan site located about 6 KM off the Merida - Progresso highway (about 20 minute drive from downtown Merida). Our guide tells us the city spanned the preclassical, classical and late classical periods. It has in addition to some lovely monuments, the relics of one of the earliest Catholic churches built in the center of the site. There is a lovely cenote in which you may swim. In addition there is a very nice museum which houses many artifacts. Well worth a visit if you are on the Merida - Progresso road.

This place is very near to Mèrida, about 30min. Is very small but beautiful. There is a cenote where you can swim wich is very convenient after a walk around the place you need to refresh.
I recomend to bring swimsuit, sunblock and one or two bottles of water, is very hot!
