It is a charming and comfy place. It is quiet and the bathrooms are really nice. There are waterfalls everywhere. The artwork is interesting and the common room was comfortable. The swimming pool is in the center with lounge chairs. Everything is really nice, but breakfast was out of this world. Phoebe

A really individual and relaxing B&B. Ellyne, Chucho and their staff couldn't be more welcoming and helpful, and if there's anything you're interested in seeing or doing, Ellyne will know how to find it or find someone who does. Chucho, a master builder, built the house himself on land his family had owned for years, and it's a very individual creation: the four rooms are ultra spacious and comfortable, and have great bathrooms next to individual little waterfalls, a unique touch. They surround the palm-shrouded pool: it gets seriously hot in Mérida, and this is a really lovely place to cool off after a morning's walk around.
Plus the breakfasts are superb, with great coffee and fabulous juices and fruit salads that truly set you up for the day, served around a convivial big table where you can chat with other guests. Only problem is the breakfasts are so good they may take up much of your day. And if you like to be connected, the Wifi is better than in most Mérida hotels too.
An exceptional place to stay and feel at home, and absolutely recommended.

If you are looking for the personal attention of a B and B, this is perfect. The hosts will make all the recommendations you need to discover merida and all the tours. The breakfast was wonderful. Great shower in the room, big room. Pictures are accurate.. Free Internet worked great. Walking distance to the main plaza. Warning-the rooms have nice skylights, but you might want a sleep mask if you dont want to be woken up by the light in the am.

We just left Merida this a.m & currently in Houston waiting for our flight back to Seattle. Ellyne was up at the crack of dawn with fresh squeezed oj & muffins for our trip! She had lent us 2 canvas bags & when I tried to return them to her this a.m. she insisted I keep them. My 19 year old daughter is a Spanish major in college & thoughtfully gave her a 2013 calendar in Spanish. Wait! It gets better! 2 guests collect Starbucks mugs but the 1 in Merida was out. Ellyne insisted on driving them to another Starbucks to get it! Nothing was too much trouble for her: If it meant making our stay more comfortable & enjoyable, she'd make it happen! I'm usually the 1 who does all the trip planning, research, arranging, etc., which can be exhausting. Ellyne took care of every detail w/ suggestions, drivers (Dennis was great) so I was able to completely relax, but she was never pushy. We did what we wanted. We have traveled all over the world & can honestly say we've never had such heartfelt, personal, caring hospitality from she and Chucho. It created an easy environment to chat & connect w/the other friendly guests which was fun. Please don't waste your $ on impersonal, high priced hotels: Stay at Ellyne's & Chucho's for a home away from home! Thanks to both of you for all you did to make our stay memorable! Ann, Peter & Andrea :)

Excellent room next to a nice pool. Rooms are fairly large with a nice double bed. Very clean, both the room and the bathroom.

Breakfast is excellent with fresh fruits and eggs. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend it. Value for money is very high. Easily within walking distance of the city center.

This lovely "Bed and Breakfast" is small (only 4 rooms, if I understood correctly) but absolutely spotless! It would be hard to find a cleaner place in Merida, I am sure!
(The owners have the place fumigated every three months with environmentally friendly products to ensure that there are no critters to be found anywhere!)

The decor of the common areas is very traditional and upon entering the place, one feels at home right away. The pool with the waterfalls is very refreshing and calming, especially after a long, hot day of touring around. It is a quiet place and ideal for relaxing. Try to have a nap in one of the hammocks and you will be surprised how comfortable they are.

The rooms are spacious and super-clean! A lovely glassed-in shower surrounded by a waterfall comes with each room set-up. The shower head provides lots of pressure but the temperature control was a bit unpredictable so be careful!

The breakfast is extremely generous and yummy! There is something for everyone.
Note: There is only one huge (beautiful) dining room table so don't be surprised if you are asked to join fellow guests for the meal!

A mini-bar is offered in the common area (living room) and in it you will find a very generous (free) selection of beverages, including beer and wine!

The owners are very friendly and more than happy to help you with restaurant- and city tour recommendations and arrangements! Don't hesitate to ask!
We ate at a lovely, very traditional Yucatecan restaurant named "Chaya Maya", which is housed in one of the traditional, historic Merida homes and the food was delicious. Great place if you like traditional food! The restaurant is in walking distance from the "Cascadas", approx. 15 min.

Please note: The "Cascadas" is located in a very quiet neighbourhood about a 20 minute walk away from the historic city center!

We would not hesitate to stay here again!
