“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2012

Cascadas is a lovely B&B. The casitas are beautifully decorated, the beds are very comfortable, breakfasts are fresh, local, and delicious, and the waterfalls are soothing and tranquil. However, even with all of that, Ellyne and Chucho, the owners, are the best part. They went beyond the call of duty to make our stay comfortable and help us in whatever way they could. Can't recommend Cascadas de Merida enough!

We have just returned from a week vacation at cascadas de Merida, and could not have been more pleased of picking this little jewel for our home away from home in Merida. We arrived late on our first day, and charming Ellyne was looking out for our arrival outside as concerned as any sweet mom would be. From our first to our last day, Ellyne and Chucho were the most gracious hosts. Ellyne took the time every day to recommend places to visit and things to do, and even went as far as writing down directions for us so we would not get lost. The breakfast we had each day were simply to die for, each morning we were treated to fresh fruits, fresh juice, and a variety of home made breakfast (thank you Miguel ;) ), and every afternoon after hot long days, Ellyne would have fresh fruit juice ready for us (trying my best to replicate them in my vitamix). Beer, and sodas were always available and frozen bottles of water which Ellyne made sure we took with us during our excursions were SO MUCH appreciated. During our stay Ellyne and Chucho invited us to tag along with them to a splendid Hacienda to enjoy a wonderful meal and a lovely evening listening to a Mozart quartet. Additionally our vacation was a unique experience, beause we obviously would never had as much information on the culture of the Mayans if it was not for Ellyne and Chucho sharing delightful stories. This B&B is its own little paradise, the casita we stayed in was lovely, and the shower is uniquely designed and truly one of a kind, ressembling a private Mayan waterfall. The pool was a treat every morning to get my excercise in, and a blessing to escape from the heat. We came to Cascadas de Merida alone and left with two new friends, and memories to last us a life time.

Room Tip: The 4 casitas are identical, you will be satisfied in any of them

If you want a wonderful and authentic Merida experience, the Cascadas de Merida shouldn't be missed! The owners, Ellyne and Chucho, are delightful, and they're also great sources of information on fun things to see and do in the City. Getting to know them is definitely one of the best parts of the trip! The yoga class and in-room massages they arranged for us felt great after the long drive from Cancun, and the hotel itself is a beautiful oasis within walking distance of most local attractions. As we were checking out, my husband made a comment that summed up our visit: "I don't want to leave this place--I'm spoiled!"

Room Tip: There are four rooms, all alike, and all spacious and well-furnished. (You'll get a real bar o...

Loved our stay at Cascadas de Merida. We were only there for two nights on a short visit from Cancun area but in that time we knew we would be back. To Merida and to Cascadas. Ellyne and Chucho are interesting and affable hosts and really make you feel like you and your experience matters. The B & B itself is a veritable oasis and quiet respite after walking the streets sightseeing in Merida. We enjoyed the pool and cold beers after a hot afternoon. We rode the bus back and forth and it's close to everything including the bus station. We do enjoy walking but taxi's are plentiful. If you enjoy the B & B experience, you wont be disappointed.

My wife & I stayed here for 4 nights in March. The owners, Chucho and Ellyne are great hosts with plentiful recommendations & advice.
Our room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The breakfasts were always varied, very tasty and than enough to keep us going until our evening meal.

The location is a bit out of the way but we always felt safe when walking back at night, so not a problem. It's also relatively close to the ADO/OCC Bus Station.

Relaxing by the pool with free cocktails, wine or beer always went down well after a hot & tiring day out exploring the many attractions in & around Merida.

I would thoroughly recommend Cascades de Merida.

If you are visiting Merida, Mexico you should check out Cascadas de Merida. We travel a lot around the world and this was one of best B&B's we have stayed at. The four rooms are decorated beautifully with a Mayan flair. The king size bed and linens are first class. We really enjoyed the courtyard with the spotlessly clean pool during our siestas in the hot afternoon! Our host and hostess were so welcoming, helped us organize our site seeing and recommended great restaurants. The breakfast was spectacular!!! Another nice touch was the complementary beer, pops and snacks. You won't be disappointed!!

Room Tip: The rooms are all good!!

What a wonderful way to begin our quick but eventful trip to Merida. As we enter the gates of Ellyne and Wilberth"s beautiful B & B from the busy street, we we amazed at how tranquil and elegant it was inside. The rooms were very clean and met all our needs, and the pool was a great relief after a day of walking the streets. Each day we were treated to a different, delicious and healthy breakfast. The B&B is located within walking distance of the main part of town and information was readily available to us for to enjoy some of the tours and entertainment. We would highly recommend this magical B&B for anyone.
