We spent five nights at Casa Ana and we loved it! Ana was so helpful when we were making plans and needed a taxi at 4 in the morning for our flight out. Since I don't speak Spanish it was nice that she speaks English. The rooms were very clean. We really enjoyed the garden/pool area. The city is so busy and loud but once you enter thru the gate into Casa Ana, all the noise is gone, the garden is peaceful and you can really relax. I even took a siesta in the hammock out there. She has small tables set up in the garden so we would play cards in the cool evening. There is a small fridge where you can put your drinks. One night we had dinner at Casa Ana and they prepared a wonderful Cuban meal for us. Breakfast was beautiful plates of fresh fruit and breads and a few times an egg dish along with fresh squeezed juice. Ana adds a extra special touch by remembering what her guest like and dislike. If we are ever back to Merida, we will stay there again!

We stayed at Casa Ana for 2 weeks in March 2013,
We are very happy to have chosen this little paradise, it is easy to feel like at home.

All B & B's people are friendly and attentive. We have exchanged a lot more with Ana.
She is very welcoming, generous, it is interesting to talk with her.
She gives a lot of information on what to see and visit in Merida and around.

Our room was very clean and the bed comfortable.
The courtyard is an oasis where it is good to relax during the heat of the afternoon.
The breakfasts are excellent and varied.

If you like B & B do not hesitate and choose Casa Ana. You will not be disappointed.

We spend 6 nights at Casa Ana in early March 2013 and couldn't have found a better place.
The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean, set at the back of a beautiful tropical garden. There are several separate seating areas in the garden or around the pool. The breakfasts are plentiful and delicious, different every morning, with fresh juice and bottomless cups of coffee.
Ana and Marianna are great hosts full of helpful information re getting around the city. It is well located only a short walk to the Plaza Grande and centro. We highly recommend it as your base to explore Merida.

This year (Feb) we decided to try somewhere different to stay in Merida, for several years we used Dolores Alba but found it increasingly noisy due to a local bar that blasted music to all hours. Casa Ana was a wonderful change and our hosts Ana and Mariana went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. Breakfast was a delicious surprise every day, fresh baked breads homemade preserves fresh fruit presented in varied appetizing ways. We would not hesitate to go back and only wish we had found it earlier. Our room was very comfortable, screens on the windows so we left them open and awoke with the birds. Decor was tasteful Mexico, not luxurious if that's your desire you best head to the American quarter as it is oft refered to, Hilton's and the like.

Room tip: Buganbilia room, second floor most privacy

We stayed for three nights at Casa Ana in Merida in February 2013. Set slightly outside the main centre on a busy street, you do wonder what you've let yourself in for but once inside the doors you are in an oasis of calm with the guest rooms at the rear of a lovely courtyard, set in a tropical garden. The rooms are clean, comfortable and very good value. The varied sem-continental breakfast (coffee, juice, fruits, bread and, sometimes, a cooked item such as a flan) was ideal.

The location is a good compromise between proximity to the city centre (its about a 10 to 15 minute walk) and ease of parking (no problem parking within a block or two even during Carnaval). Ana and Marianna are excellent, friendly hosts who made us very welcome.

It was a little noisy in the evenings as it was Carnaval time but that was hardly Casa Ana'a fault and probably would have been the case for any downtown Merida hotel during this pre-Lent festival.
