Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Fantastic staff, super-clean and comfortable. Great location for walking around the city....nothing could be more convenient and yet quiet and secluded. A true bargain and a hotel I highly recommend.

Love this place! Clean, bright, tasteful, newly rennovated, air conditioning, ceiling fan, wi-fi, continental breakfast, charm, character, quiet area near town plazas, attention to detail (large bottle of Garnier shampoo in the shower, soft quality toilet paper, large bottle of liquid soap at the sink, adequate wall outlets, bottled water and soda for purchase, security box in the room, comfortable beds with quality bedding, etc), beautiful, original tile floors different in each room, kitchen available to prepare your own meals if you choose to, open areas to meet and socialize with other guests; and warm, friendly, helpful staff. Two of my young adult sons (age 28 and 20) and I stayed here 26, 27, and 28 Dec 2011. It is absolutely the best place we stayed in all of Mexico during our 10 day trip. Price is reasonable....don't raise your prices....we want to come back! It was a pleasure to meet you Jim. You have done a fantastic job with the place. Thanks for helping us to the car with our bags and for the dinner recommendation! It was fabulous! By the way, we stumbled upon your place when we arrived at 1am! What great luck!

Room Tip: Rooms vary according to how many beds are in them. Room 10 had two double beds and is on the top lev...

We were very pleased with everything about this lovely hotel. The staff, food, clean rooms and amenities were just perfect. The owner is hands on to make sure everything is taken care of to the highest standards. We rented a car but didn't really need it, everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. There is parking available right outside the front door of the hotel. Breakfast each morning was a nice bonus, the food was great. We appreciated how quiet the hotel is, especially during those afternoon siestas! We will continue to return to this very nice hotel.

Room Tip: We prefer a room downstairs, but for no reason other than I am too lazy to go up a small flight of s...

We didn't have any reservations in Merida and found this hotel by luck. We liked it a lot. The guys at the reception were really nice.
It's a cute house with only 13 or 14 rooms. There is a big commun and open kitchen were breakfast is served, but you can also use it to make lunch or something for dinner. The rooms are a bit dark, but there is everything you need. Easy parking on the street and city center in walking distance.

I've been to Merida several times and this is my third stay at Hotel del Peregrino.
It's a lovely hotel in the heart of the city. Near all of the attractions and entertainment.
The staff arranged activities for us and gave us suggestions for dining and music.
We spent evenings sitting on the upper deck chatting with fellow travellers.

Can't wait to return again soon.

I have just stayed at Hotel del Peregrino while at a conference in Merida. It is a restored and converted old colonial house, clean and decorated in bright traditional colours. I really like old buildings with character and history, and this place has it in spades. Rooms have individual air con with remote control and a ceiling fan so you can get it to your own perfect temperature. There is also a wall mounted flat screen TV and an en suite shower room which is also decorated in local colours and patterns and is very clean. There were two double beds in my room and both were comfortable to sleep on.

It isn't very big and has very few rooms; as a result it's very friendly. There was always someone at the reception, even at night (you just ring the bell on the reception desk), and the staff were always smiling, courteous and very helpful, acting much like a concierge service one would expect in a much more expensive hotel. As I had a pretty busy schedule, I didn't get the chance to use the off site swimming pool though. Breakfast was toast, jam, cereal, local pastries and plenty of coffee and orange juice; simple, plentiful and just what I needed!

Locationwise, it is very convenient for pretty much everything. The conference hotel, Fiesta Americana, was only a 15 min walk and there are plenty of restaurants within a short walk. Yet it's far enough from all the noise of the town and at night it's very quiet.

All in all, it was a great place to stay. Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: If you find stairs difficult, ask for a room on the ground floor.

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of Hotel Del Peregrino. The room was great, the food was great, and the staff were even better. Located in a quiet area but very close to the zocalo and Paseo de Montejo. I will be back in a few days to finish my vacation because I love this place so much.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floor have direct access to the terrace.
