Bravo Tapas Spanish Restaurant Bar & Social Lounge has recently opened its doors on beautiful Paseo de Montejo, offering patrons a unique Mérida dining experience in a comfortable, air conditioned, bar-like atmosphere with terrace; and upstairs on one of the finest outdoor terraces in Mérida, under an open sky, infused with fresh evening breezes, and overlooking the elegant tree-lined boulevard often referred to as Mérida’s “Champs Elysees.”
The inspired menu by owner Javier Bolaños features a variety of authentic small plates, seafood and paella that take the diner on a culinary tour of Spanish, Mexican and American food. Bravo Tapas offers more than 35 flavorful, small plate tapas for every taste, diet and budget—perfect for sharing the various specialties!
We particularly enjoyed the Pork Riblets, which were tender--and the meat fell off the bone. That, together with a delicious Mango BBQ sauce made them a true winner.
Another must try is the Stuffed Dates! Dates stuffed and wrapped with bacon and broiled to perfection. A wonderful combination of sweet and crispy. One of their signature tapas.
The Large Shrimp Ajiillo was moist and succulent with just the right touch of garlic. The baguette rounds served helped get every last bit of savory sauce.
The food was fabulous, the views from the upstairs terrace are simply the best in Merida, the service was attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. We would highly recommend Bravo Tapas!
