“Superb foodie experience in Merida!”
Reviewed March 14, 2014

Unbeleivably high tech foodie experience in Merida. Who would guess that you can have one of the best tasting food in Mexico right in the middle of the Yucatan Peninsula. We had a 10 course dinner with wine tastings to go with each dish. Portions were small and supremely delicious! We all had our own room with a tour of the restaurant's kitchen and gardens (organic produce and herbs). I would highly recommend this restaurant for people who enjoy unique dining experiences.

“Foodie's heaven! Must do!”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

We did the 14 course tasting meal with wine pairing. It was a great value for the price. Our waiter spoke clear English and gave us a tour of the restaurant, kitchen, garden and lab before our meal. The menu was well planned and each dish was expertly executed. We could not find fault with any of the delicious dishes and we enjoyed all the wine and drink pairings except for one wine choice. I would go back for another dinner on every trip to Merida.

“Molecular gastronomy at a bargain price.”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

To begin, I had no idea what to expect with Ku'uk. I was just told it was the "most expensive" of the restaurants in Merida. This much is true. HOWEVER, as most restaurants in Merida are fairly bargained priced, the cost fails to reflect all that you get for the price. Having eaten at Alinea in Chicago and considered that one of the best dining experiences of my life, I can say this rivals that for about half of what I spent at alinea. We had a four hour dining experience and reveled in every exciting, unique, original moment of it. Not to be missed.

“an amzing experience, great food, quite pricey!”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

we went with another couple. it was a fabulous foodie experience, presentation was off the hook.
definitly go for one of the tasting menus, not a la carte, and if you like wine do the food wine pairing. the food is quite good, but it is more about the presentation. It is pricey, but you get a show included with the presentation and explanation.

“Great place a bit out of beautiful Merida's downtown.”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

This is a very nice place for those adventuring out of centro and wishing to see more of a city that looks like more 90 percent of Latin American modernized towns. No historic cultural interest here but lots of adventure in terms of the food, which seems like a Yucatecan modern fusion inspired in the exercises Spanish El Buli. Yes, lots of surreal experimentation in their dishes, big use of hidrogen, syringes, lab destilation equipment, etc. In the end, despite the artifice, the flavors are superb and worth trying. It is a great idea for those tired of traditional Yucatecan food as the guys here try new combinations, and presentations otherwise impossible to get in Merida's restaurant scene.
The prices are expensive but for all the work put in the making of dishes, I would say it is fair. Ambiance is not great and a bit bizarre: bare walls attempting a lost minimalism combined with some red rooms in the style of many Barcelona places but with the Mexican concrete fountain dripping water in a patio. Makes you wonder if you are in a kind of dystopic inter-space hacienda of some kind. Service is good and be prepared that the entire staff wants to address you in English. So, if you are taking the language lessons and learning to order in Spanish, warn the waiters on you purpose.
