“Lost City of Maya”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

I have been on this day tour while on my cruise from New Orleans , Louisiana USA to port Progresso, and then to Cozumel Island. I enjoyed climbing on one of those famous pyramids Maya Indians erected, and also liked nature and flora of those places. I really enjoyed this tour.

“Much better then Chichen Itza”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

More bigger, better ruins. Without endless vendors like in Chichen Itza. Site is amazing. Fewer tourists. Love it. Correct pronunciation is Ushmal.

“Cool tour with a ton of history and architecture”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

This is quite a beautiful site completely different from the ruins in Chichen Itza. From what I had read, it is considered the Mayan cities that is most representative of the region's dominant architectural style. That description nailed it. It's buildings are typical of the Puuc style, with smooth low walls that open on ornate friezes.

With beautiful architecture and a rich history, this was one of my favorites, If you are like me and enjoy walking around an old pile of rocks trying to figure out how they did it, this place is one of the best. You can even still climb one of the smaller pyramids, and enjoy all the nature around the site.

“UXMAL”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

Uxmal is absolutely brilliant and much better than Chitchen Itza. Very few tourists and the site is amazing. It is well worth a visit. We were staying at Merida and had booked the tour to Uxmal with a tour company. The tour was from early in the afternoon and went through to the evening (weather permitting with a Sound and Light show). Unfortunately in the late afternoon it started to rain so the Sound and Light show had to be cancelled. We are both well into our 60's and enjoyed the tour enormously. Most of the buildings can be climbed although eventually because of inevitable wear and tear it will be stopped. Make the most of it while you can.

“NOT TO BE MISSED”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

For an unexpected tour go to this lovely place. people may read about these places but seeing them first hand is out of this world. I have always been interested in archaeological sites, this one is out of this world. As a point of interest many other sites are yet to be uncovered in the local area, when I go again hopefully the other sites will have been explored, and many other ancient artifacts will have been found.
