“Small wonderful and different”
Reviewed February 3, 2012

We love the high quality and inventiveness of Mexican handicrafts. This is a relatively new museum in a lovely old house. You can visit it in an hour or two easily, and you will see a good collection of crafts from all over Mexico. Full of color and art. And there are jaguars in the bathroom here! Do not go to the Almendros restaurant next door, it is not very good any more. There are other places on the Mejorada square or nearby. And don't forget the Museo de la Cancion Yucateca 3 blocks away, the home of trova ballad music.

“Beautiful museum; don't miss it.”
Reviewed January 20, 2012

This museum of folk art is located in a beautiful old house in the Mejorado neighborhood---a short walk from the main square. The museum is excellent. Small enough so that you are not exhausted. But the quality is excellent.

The people who run it are so kind. The museum shop is excellent (although it was closed for inventory the last time I visited). But I always make a trip here to see some of the textiles.

Don't miss the jaguars in the bathrooms! Pretty funny.

Oh btw, it's free on Sundays.
