“Best place in the centro”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

Great place to eat fish and feel relaxed after all the toursit traps in Merida's centre.
The ceviche is amazing and the "aguas" come in great sizes!
Shrimp fajitas is also one of my favourites. The mojo de ajo might be the only thing I would not recommend (but that might be more personal taste).

Don't expect a big place with plenty tables, its just a nice fondita.
Oh and yes, it closes at 4pm!

“Great Food. A local treasure”
Reviewed January 25, 2012

Went here with friends of ours who have moved to Merida. Had a great shrimp fajita. Everyone else loved their food as well. Decor old and beat up but that's irrelevant in this case. Has its own ambiance.

“locals eat here, that says it all”
Reviewed January 17, 2012

small little hole in the wall. Fast service, good food. Mostly seafood selections; fish fillets, ceviche, soups, and a taco takeaway bar. icey cold beer. not always the cleanest place, but consistent with the good food. it is local style so could put out-of-towners off. like the mayonaisse on your fish, you get used to it, you start to like it. and great salsa habanero.

“simply the Best Lunch in Merida!”
Reviewed December 7, 2011

I am hesitant to talk about this restaurant, and that is only because it is such a hidden treasure, I am afraid of it being found by tourista's and then not being able to get a table! It is beyond good......wonderful wait staff, and exactly the kind of place you want to go when you want to feel like you are "on vacation" and experiencing another culture.
The price is low, and the rest is EXCELLENT!

“A Very Simple Place--Some of Merida´s Best Seafood”
Reviewed November 15, 2011

A very plain easy to miss place in the heart of Merida, one block from the main square. But its worth seeking out.
From the front, you will first see a simple , open dining area. But look to the left and you will see an air conditioned dining room with very simple decor. The menu has a variety of great seafood dishes. The shrimp ceviche is excellent and a huge portion for a low price. Another favor of mine is the ¨drunken¨shrimp. Excellent. Many variations of fish dishes, prepared most any way you like. The wait staff is very good---courteous and prompt. Very popular with locals so you may have a bit of a wait for a table but its worth it.
Primarily a lunch place , closing early. Not sure of exact time but maybe 4PM.
