Quirky and charming - this describes it best. All basic facilities, pleasant staff, tasty breakfast and centrally located. Just the perfect combo for exploring Merida and surrounding areas. It's an old hotel with lots of original features from the colonial times so you can smell some damp in the room occasionally but this shouldn't ruin your stay.

Stayed here a few nights. I didn't realize til getting home I had reserved a "special" room, but I think we were in just a standard 2 bed room. At any rate, the room was adequate, and very clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. The inner courtyard rooms were quiet. We ate breakfast in hotel restaurant and it was delicious. Location a few blocks from square was perfect.

Cute hotel with all the basic amenities. The hotel is within walking distance of the Cathedral but in a quiet area. We absolutely loved the staff. They all seem eager to help and provide information. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again.

This is a small hotel, but the staff went so above and beyond that sometimes I felt like we were the only people there. I was there with my 90 year old father who walks with difficulty. We had rooms on the first floor and the staff was always around helping him, and his elderly sister and cousin who was in a wheelchair. They would help them out of the taxi, and push the wheelchair around the hotel for us. One of the mornings, when my father slept in and missed breakfast (restaurant is open until 11:00 AM for breakfast), they made sure to fix him some coffee and light breakfast so he wouldn't go hungry. They helped me book a tour to the Mayan ruins and were very helpful calling a taxi, etc. Basically, anything they could do to help us. The hotel is immaculate and beautiful. The rooms are small and the beds tend to be a little hard, like most hotels in Mexico. The showers are good with plenty of hot water. All necessary amenities are provided. Our rooms had ceiling fans and AC. The restaurant is also open for dinner, 6-10. The location is 1 1/2 blocks from the main plaza. On Sunday, there is a market at the plaza. There are wheelchair ramps, though they are narrow. There are a few steps up and down. I think bathrooms would be tight to maneuver in for people in wheelchairs. There is no elevator. If we go back there, I would absolutely book a room here again.
