“Foodies rejoice”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

Foodies will love this place. The food, while pricey, is the best food we had in Merida. It is traditional fusion. It keeps with the traditional foods of the region, but marries it with a lot of creativity and heart. The service was excellent. We ate their two nights and Carlos and another gentleman originally from Hawaii were our waiters. They were very attentive. My boyfriend had a ribeye steak, and I had fettucine with shrimp and pesto. I am not a bit steak eater, but my boyfriends steak was so delicious and perfectly cooked, we ended up switching plates. The next night, I ordered the beef filet! It was exquisite. The desserts are not to be missed, either.

“A mandatory pleasure when in Merida”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

We found thisrestaurant while strolling on Paseo Montejo and made a reservation for the following evening at 8 pm. we came one hour earlier and asked if we could be served. the answer was "for you and your husband we will always be willing and ready to serve you" I was already in love with the place!. The food is simply perfect it is a great blend of Mayan cuisine with Mexican modern influence. Don't forget the Dessert!

“Average food, poor management, expensive”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

We came here without a reservation at 9pm on January 1st (group of 6). Upon arriving, the manager/ owner (as the restaurant is part of the hotel) told us it would be difficult to seat us, but if we wanted, we could wait in a dedicated area. He took us there (the hotel lounge) and we sat down on some comfortable sofas. The place itself was very nice, smart and quite arty.

Come 9.20 pm, no sign of anyone, we found a waiter and asked for some beers, which arrived quite promptly. Come 9.50 pm, or 30 minutes later, the manager comes and tells us it will be difficult to seat us, and do we still want to stay. After having spent close to an hour, we said yes. We waited an additional 30 minutes, and were seated at 10.20 pm. This is clearly a sign of poor management - he should have told us we would have to wait 1hr +, and we simply would have found another restaurant.

The food was ok and nothing special (mexican - mediterranean style food). There were many items on the menu which were not available and it was expensive. My shrimp main course with lemon foam was small. Many wines were unavailable, and sommelier was not well versed on French wines.

On the whole, just very very average. I understand it was the 1st of January, and sometimes there can be items on the menu which are not available, but you should be warned ahead of time. There are many other better places in Merida (try Trotters if you want a similar type of food).

“Great food, great service”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

This is a very good restaurant. The food is fusion and very good, we had to start the beef carpaccio, and octopus that was delicious. The trout was exceptionally good.
But the service was outstanding even though it was new years day and the restaurant was full. There wasn't any table empty. I had to congratulate the owner.
By the way the spa there is great . One of the best services I have been to.

“Great Food, Small Portions!”
Reviewed December 30, 2013 via mobile

A very nice fusion restaurant with great food, however portions were small. Very interesting dishes! If warm, you will be better off staying inside, as the terrace may be uncomfortable. If fresh, terrace can be very nice.
