Restaurant is inside so no terrace (when i was there). Location is nice, food is average but not expensive. You can walk around a bit to see something of the old structure. To be honest, all 'n all i expected more of it.

We are glad to know that you liked the hacienda, we expect that our visitors enjoy to walk around the grounds. We appreciate your comments, and of course we put attention to it. The reason there are no tables in the gardens is because due to heat most of our friends prefer the freshness of the air conditioning ... however the idea of putting some tables in the garden seems excellent to us ... thanks for the suggestion... hope to see you back very soon.

Best regards

A few years ago while we were visiting Tulum, my wife bought a Hacienda Teya recipe book at the gift shop. The book kind of educated us about Mayan food and over the years we have been able to sample some of those Mayan dishes at various restaurants in the Yucatan during our visits. Although we visited Merida a few years ago, the timing didn't work out for us to dine at Hacienda Teya. As we were planning our trip this time I made sure we would have the opportunity to visit Hacienda Teya on the way to Merida.

We arrived at around 12:30 on a Friday and the restaurant was very slow. We were the only ones there for a while and then folks started showing up. The hacienda and the restaurant are beautiful, we both really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. After lunch we walked around a bit to look at the grounds and buildings.

For lunch we ordered a bowl of sopa de lima, an order of panuchos and the queso relleno planning to share. The soup was excellent, we ate sopa de lima at two other restaurants during our Yucatan visit and we both thought the Hacienda's was the best. The panuchos were great and the queso relleno was good. My wife enjoyed the queso relleno a bit more than I did, it is a bit of an odd dish, but something I wanted to try after reading about it. We had enough room for dessert and ordered flan to share. As it worked out, we had flan in several other restaurants during our visit and the Hacienda's flan was hands down the best. It was certainly the best flan I've ever eaten.

Overall visiting the Hacienda Teya was a very nice experience for us. The food and the service were great and we really enjoyed being there. I would highly recommend anyone heading in (or out) of Merida to stop by.

Very dull restaurant, no atmosphere unless you like the loud surging noise from ac, and dirty peacocks sitting in windows while eating. Menu very so so, nothing outstanding. We were party of 6; 4 native Mexicans and 2 Americans. We tried 7 different foods and no Wow! Service was ok. Plus, too expensive!

We would love to have the opportunity during your next visit to Mérida to show you the best Yucatecan food. Please remind our manager about this post.

We ordered the sopa de lima, salbutes and pod chuc - all superb. Also had the best mango margarita ever and the highlight was dessert - their flawless flan. Yummmmm.

We were looking for a traditional food restaurant and thankfully the person that we were traveling with had been to this place before.
We ordered many different dishes to share, but my ABSOLUTE favorite was the "Cochinita Pibil"
You cannot leave Merida before dinning here.
