“Well located, good beds and clean”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

Pros: Excellent location near zocalo and restaurants. Comfortable room which is well lit and nicely decorated. Good A/C, although you need to fight with front desk to give you a remote controller for the A/C. Free shampoo and free drinking water. Bathroom contains towels, bath mat and hand towel. Beds comfortable. Interior rooms quiet.
Cons: pool too small to swim in and mosquito infested in afternoon. No breakfast. No internet at hotel but internet cafes located 2 blocks away. Rooms on street could be noisy due to truck and bus traffic.

Room Tip: Choose an interior room if you are a light sleeper.

Our experience was during our winter trip that is continuing now. We really liked Jorge, the bilingual manager. He is just one of the many smiling, friendly people we met! The rooms are spotless, and my favorite thing is the rooftop deck. Full of beautiful plants, with a few tables & chairs to use. You can bring your own drinks and snacks there, and have friends visit. What a beautiful place to see the lights of Merida!!

We just completed our Christmas/New Years annual vacation staying at Hotel Colonial for a month. We enjoyed every single minute of it, not to mention the comfortable beds, the wide screen tv, the small but cozy swimming pool with its nice paintings frescoes on the wall, the delicious and inexpensive buffet at the only restaurant in the hotel ($84.00Pesos).Not to mention the downtown location for good is a plus.I have to mention the bell boy Jose Juan is always there for you as he goes the extra mile for you.Overall our experience is always good and rewarding and we are looking forward for our next trip.Ohh! did I mention Wi Fi connection is free? ?.

Room Tip: We always request a room facing the street, it coul be a bit noisy(but is okay for us) So I recomen...

Great location, in the center of major attractions and beautiful settings. I loved and enjoyed the room, staff and acommodations. I really suggest everyone to try the fresh green juice with scrambled eggs with longaniza, A ONE OF THE KIND BREAKFAST!!!! The staff was extremely helpful and caring, I truly felt like at HOME :)

Room Tip: I recomend the rooms located towards the back of the hotel, the view of the sky at night makes it mu...

I stayed a week in this small but very clean hotel. The staff was marvelous, the breakfast was very good and the prices very affordables.
Almost every night there is an event closeby and on Sundays there is like an open market where you can find souvenirs, food and typical clothes.
I will come back!!!

Room Tip: Since the hotel is in downtown there is no need to take a cab, everything is pretty close. I asked...

Passing through Merida. Got a good deal online for this hotel. Good location, just. off zocalo. Small rooms on the worn side. Clean, As in other reviews, small ants seem to be a problem. Not terrible , but noticable. Decent value for what you pay..

Room Tip: Get room off street

My partner and I stayed here last year, we drove up and asked if they had a room, the front desk was pleasant, we paid, we stayed two nights, now if you are looking for the Four Seasons, this is not it, but if you are looking for a place where the staff is friendly, the location is perfect and above all the cost is ideal for a short stay then this is the place!!! We met amazing people that come back every year. So in my pursuit for another hotel for one night before the home we rented for 10 days in Merida is available I thought of nowhere else I would rather stay again then the "Hotel Colonial"
